She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston before completing residency training in general surgery at the University of Hawaii in Honolulu. She then continued with a fellowship in plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Dr. Hiers has completed intensive training in burn wound care and microvascular surgery. To make sure she’s always on track with the latest advancements in her field, she holds professional memberships in the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Laser Surgery and Medicine, the Southern Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Association.
