I’m 2 years post Grad and ready to give my Review! I had a wonderful experience here at this school even made some life long friends here! No it’s not a new school true in deed but this is a school that will hold you accountable if you’re ready to learn! Mr. Ervin Smith was amazing he was straight forward and did not have any favoritism between his students he made us all do the work and he takes no mess he takes no short cuts if he gives homework you better believe he will be checking every page when you get to class the next day! I came into this program as a professional procrastinator I left a better person for the workforce! I left motivated I have now officially been a licensed Nail Technician for 2 years and working full time in a shop my life has completely changed! They did not promise me a career when I started they promised to guide me into one if I wanted it! This is a great program for Nail techs who wants to move into a shop!

Don’t come here if you want to save money on your hair!!! Charged me the same amount that a normal salon would do. Hayden did an amazing job on my hair and will definitely be a reoccurring client for her.

1. I entered cosmetology at just the right moment, guided by the exceptional Mr. Smith, who taught me invaluable skills beyond the textbook. In my initial weeks on the floor, his hands-on approach enabled me to handle 4 to 7 clients daily, often managing up to three chairs simultaneously. Thanks to the generous tips I received, I was able to save a few thousand dollars, which helped cover my school expenses. I also had the privilege of learning from other fantastic instructors like Ms. Brilla, Ms. Coss, and Ms. Kelly. The best advice I received from various stylists was to choose the most affordable school, as they all provide the essential knowledge and regulations needed to pass the board exam and obtain a license. Advanced skills can always be acquired through additional courses or mentorship, and I was fortunate to have such generous mentors during my training.

I received a decent haircut. It was not what I asked for at all and they blocked the back of my hair.I hate that I prefer a v tapered I thought.
I had said that.Maybe I'll didn't but I have never had my hair shaped without them asking.Did I want it blocked or otherwise? I will not go back

Hayden did an excellent job on my hair. She did exactly what I asked for (trim just a little bit and add some very subtle highlights). Sure, the building is bare bones and could use a little glamming up to make it more welcoming for clients - and probably more practical for the students. I will definetely come back here.

The girl did not listen to how I wanted my hair cut. I showed her how much to cut off visually. I added that I wanted "lots of layers". Most stylists understand this. She questioned what I wanted, so I explained it again. She went to ask her supervisor about it.

I should have got up and left or asked for a different stylist.

My hair is 2 inches shorter than I wanted and I won't be able to do anything about it just let it grow out.

I think I could have done a better job cutting my own hair - even though I can't see the back of my head.

If there was a way to give a negative star I would have done so.

I wanted to look good for upcoming Christmas parties and going out with friends. Now I want to cry and hide until it looks acceptable.

I was a student in the Esthetics Program that started February of this year and graduated in October. I was in the evening class. During my time there I went through 5 teachers in 6-7 months. The only reason I chose this school was because it was affordable. The area where the Esthetics is, is not very clean and there was a lot of things that needed to be fixed and should’ve been taken care of properly. The whole building was not very clean and sanitary. On top of that, the structure in the classroom and the administration i felt, was not very professional and not very helpful. The financial administrator was very rude at times when questions were presented and acted very confused. When you would enter his office he would always talk about things that did not necessarily pertain to you or things that happened weeks or months ago. As for the classroom, I had 3 actual teachers and 2 substitutes. When I started we were using Pivot Point and everything we had to do as far as class work was on the website. After my second teacher, someone that had access to our coursework changed everything and we were only able to see the module we were working on. That’s not a big deal but then when you checked your grades most of them were missing and if you didn’t have proof of your grades that were not showing, you were told you would have to retake them. We also had an app to submit pictures and administration would accept them and by the time I graduated all of my pictures were gone. It is honestly sad that the students had to keep up with grades and everything and administration couldn’t handle it. There was only one teacher I had that actually taught me everything I needed to pass my exams and I am very thankful for her and being able to be taught by her. Yes, this Esthetics program is only to teach you the basics to pass your state boards but I learned more than that from her. Once she was gone, the financial administrator talked bad about her and constantly did that until the day I graduated. I say all of this basically to say, if you want an actual Esthetics education, do not attend this school. If you are looking to just learn the basics to take your state board exams, then sure attend it if you’d like. This review is not to be rude or disrespect anyone but to show other people the facts about this school.

🛑 ✋ THIS IS NOT A GOOD SCHOOL!

I thought long and hard before I decided to leave this review because rather than leave a negative review I rather just do business with someone else than give a bad business my attention.

But, it would be unfair to let others interested in being an Esthetician walk into the same 🪤 trap I experienced. The school doesn’t have a consistent set of teachers 👩‍🏫 🧑🏽‍🏫 👩‍🏫 to teach the class, but Mr. Bob or Dr. Bob, working in financial aid and one of the owners of the school, will certainly convince you to quickly sign up, the class is filling up soon and take your money 💰. But you won’t receive the education that you’re paying for. The area where you wash the brushes and containers has a toilet 🚽 covered up that’s not in use with a table over it. That’s where you will put your equipment to dry. ABSOLUTELY UNSANITARY! There’s a room that caught fire due to something being left 🔌 plugged in that the students are supposed to be able to use for clients that was never fixed. The counters in the clinic are dirty, and the break room hasn’t been cleaned in years. It looks like a break room for men that work at a construction 🚧 site. Just Filthy! And these are things I saw the first night of school, of which I didn’t see in a tour because Mr. Nixon kept the lights off in the classroom when showing me the classroom and now I know why.

My 1st night in the class a fellow student 🧑‍🎓 told me, “You should go to a different school if you really want to learn, they’re not going to teach you here. It’s dirty and moldy. The only reason I’m here is because I was already licensed and just need to pass state board again and it’s the cheapest school for me to do that at. But if you’re new to this, GO TO ANOTHER SCHOOL!” I should’ve listened to her.
But I stayed in the class for 6 days 27 hours and this was during Hurricane Helene and Dr. Bob aka Mr. Bob took $2,400 from my Pell Grant when he should have only taken $1,200 of which I will be reporting. I was unsatisfied with the class from the very 1st day and expressed it to Mr. Smith, The Cosmetology Teacher, of which he kept assuring me that a new teacher was coming and that Ms. Zani was just a substitute. She was 79, a little forgetful but a wealth of knowledge. But not suitable for this type of teaching.

The new teacher never came. I went and toured other schools that had a minimum of 3 teachers for their Esthetician Program.

I should have researched all schools in my area before choosing this one. A bad mistake that I learned from! One teacher can’t teach the new students 👩🏽‍🎓 🧑‍🎓 coming in every 6 weeks, then instruct the previous students, train the students in clinic and watch the students with clients. But that’s the way they’re running that program. You don’t receive any type of kit, nor do they pay for state board exams.

I kept trying to unenroll but they kept saying a new teacher is coming. They need more than one instructor. Not just a new instructor. Which seems to be a consistent problem with this Esthetics Program. Keeping teachers to teach students for the education they’re paying money 💰 for.

When I finally was able to speak with Mr. Bob about unenrolling he then proceeded to tell me stories about previous unfit teachers they had, he can’t find a good teacher and yet he’s charging students for an education they’re not receiving. This is a shame. This man is 83 years of age and should know better. He laughed while telling me that the previous instructor was eating a sub sandwich 🥪 while doing a demonstration of removing back hair and dropped a tomato 🍅 on his back and picked it up and ate it.

In the end, I unenrolled and I’m glad I did!
I will be attending a new school in January 2025!
I want to LEARN not just get by and pass state board.

I hope this review helps someone. You deserve to get what you’re paying for. 🫶🏼💕

So my review may be conflicting as my service and cut was lovely. My hair looks so good! The student was the sweetest and was very thorough. My friend on the other hand had an awful experience. As you can see the picture she had is nothing like the result. Her poor hair is so damaged that it is breaking and falling out. The cut is uneven and looks quite like she hacked into it herself. She walked out after FIVE hours with her hair in the worst shape. Honestly it seemed like the instructor was just ready to leave and said nothing of how bad her hair looked.
