AdventHealth Centra Care Daytona, Daytona Beach Reviews (1)
This is my 2nd visit. I'm one who usually puts off getting assistance. Remembering how helpful AdventHealth Centra Care Daytona was at my first visit, I was hoping to find friendly people along with good care.
I'm going to list those who helped me; all deserve credits from their employer!:
Front Desk: Norma was helpful with a sense of humour that eased my anxiety.
Physician's Assistant: Neha Patel was professional, clearly knowledgeable and answered my many questions, even shared a similar experience which brought the discussion full circle. She came in at the start to determine the course needed, start with administering ear drops and again at the end to see how I'd fared and to review aftercare at home. Serious about her work, she was also personable which makes a bit difference in patient care.
Medical Technician: Muhammad (didn't get his last name) helped with everything from taking my blood pressure (more than once to be sure it was accurate), weight, escorted me to a room, told me what was going to happen. He did the main service (my right ear was completely blocked by wax - couldn't hear and not great for my balance issues: I have MS) of steadily - and it took quite awhile because the wax was so impacted - flushing out the wax. He was very keen on being sure that I was comfortable, not in pain, the water not too hot. During this process, I opened up conversation and that was very enjoyable and generous of him. The time taken probably didn't pay what it should've had it been a briefer time period, but he was not concerned with that, just that I get the best care he could give me.
Many thanks to Stacey "MA" who, after Muhammad and Neha had finished their work, came in to see if I had any questions. I asked her for the list of names (above). She, too, was friendly as well as helpful.
One thing I've noticed in the last few years of health care in Central Florida (Daytona Beach area) is that primary care physicians do not have time available to get to know their patients or for their patients to get to know them. I've been here over half my life now, but remember fondly the doctors and nurses (before "PA" and "NP" were used) I had in New York and Connecticut. They took the time to talk with me and I got to know them. It made a big difference in my participating in my health care and I'm sure it advanced their ability to tend to my health needs. I miss it dreadfully!
AdventHealth Centra Care Daytona takes the time and makes the effort to do what I've missed in general health care. They need to be commended on record and, hopefully, be considered for monetary raises showing their superior care!
