At their 808 York Mills Road location, every time I go there the staff are rude and unpleasant. Today I walk up to the counter with bags of bagels and the clerk says to me "What?". And she gives me this look like my being a customer there is an inconvenience for her. After ringing in the sale she asks "You want the receipt?" and I politely replied "Yes please" and she rolls her eyes like it is a hassle to give me the receipt. I hold my hand out to take the receipt, and she throws it on the counter while walking away.

Richard Farbman, the founder of What A Bagel, worked with his father for over 10 years in the wholesale bagel industry. In 1997, the vision was set out. Richard took everything he knew about the wholesale bagel-making process and great customer service and packed it in to a single retail store.
Today, there are nine What a Bagel locations through out the GTA, and growing. Richard’s sons operating the three corporate locations, and with the six franchises, what a bagel is a fast growing business.
