Oh My God!!!!
I never even got a massage! The masseuse might be wonderful but the business is so poorly run, I would never know.
I booked a massage for Monday January 13th, 2020 at 5:15 pm. There was a lot of snow that day, so I phoned just after 9 am to find out if there will be any delay and when I can fill out an intake form. They never answer their phone and don't usually phone you back even after you leave a voice message. Their web chat is very slow to respond and often incomprehensible. At 14:53, Sharleen, the masseuse got back to me via iMessage to let me know the appointment would be cancelled due to the weather conditions. She also told me the link to the intake form was emailed to me. I used my work email since my work benefits cover an RMT visit. She said she cleared her Friday to rebook the appointment. I agreed to come at 5:15 pm on Friday January 17th. Over the next few days, I exchanged message with Sharleen to receive the intake email. She said it was send and resent but I never got it. At 9:45 this morning (Jan 17th) I received an email to confirm my email address. That is kind of a silly thing to do but I replied to that. We had continued confusing communication about clicking on a link that I never received. At 10:50 AM I spoke to Sharleen on the phone and she offered for me to fill out the form when I get there and the time to do so, would be added on. I responded that I'd prefer to do it in a more efficient manner by filling it out first and requested the forms and/or URL. Vancity also suggested to fill out the form over the phone, I never refused but reiterated that I rather do it on my own and I'm quite computer literate so it should not be an issue. An hour later, the owner Tiana, wrote to me that she is cancelling my appointment (again) because I refuse to fill it out another way than online and the link was not working. I was very upset and let her know how I felt and informed her that I would make it known everywhere I can, that I had such a terrible experience and complete waste of time. Vancity Massage Therapy charges a fee for cancellations with less than 24 hours notice. I am not compensated when they cancel on me twice within a few hours. At 12:53 pm, Tiana phone me and we have a very heated conversation. Eventually, I suggested she send the email to my personal email address. She reluctantly agreed. That email worked. My guess was that it might be due to high security issues with a business email address but that is only an education guess since nobody has ever experienced this issue before. I told her I would fill out the intake form and she asked if I would still leave a bad review. I replied honestly, saying if the massage is good, I won't give a bad review. The masseuse has nothing to do with the service of the facility. She told me that I would have my massage booked again. I called Tiana back to make sure she received the intake form and she told me she is cancelling my appointment again. Yes I am frustrated and upset but now I need a massage more than ever.

Diligent about taking good care of my body, I have extensive experience with regular massage therapy. I'm so happy to have found Tiana at Vancity Massage Therapy. Tiana has excellent technique and knowledge of anatomy. She communicates well and always hits the mark! Highly recommend.
