broke parts of the roof , didn't fix, had to call, they fixed it, the air ducts on the roof where not bolted properly, now we have problems during winter and are trying to contact them but they're ignoring any contact. The way they work is careless and they chose the easy way, by slamming heavy materials 100 pounds plus on your roof so the insides of chandlers ect are broken. For the cherry on top, they added extra charges even after we signed a contract saying that he wouldn't. If you want expensive and badly done work and being treated like a number to being ignored, please give couvreurs duro-toit a call today! LAVAL RESIDENTIAL.

I am satisfied with the work done on my roof on the whole but I am very dissatisfied with how it came together and to the final point how the soffit team cleaned up after themselves.

I am equally disappointed in the logistics and communication DuroToit had between departments.

Specifically Marc-Andre Gaumond who was our estimator was great when he was talking to us and explaining everything but made some mistakes:

The original time we sat down with Marc was August 18, 2016 and began our file

1-Didn’t take our CAA Number when he originally began our file.
2-Didn’t let us know that there may be extra costs after the work is begun. I specifically asked if there was anything that may increase the quoted price of once they began work and he replied there wouldn’t.
3-We stated at the time that our roof was leaking and he said he would be able to get us priority because of it. He mentioned that he could then schedule a crew to come by and begin September 3.
4-I sent out the completed contract August 24, 2016 and didn’t get any confirmation about it from anyone at DuroToit, despite my requesting same in the email.
5-In the days following I went to get the building permit from our Town Hall and was told that it would take 3 weeks to process. At the time I was expecting a crew to come by that weekend to start work so I contacted Marc-Andre and he told me he would bring it up to the office, to which led me to understand I should contact someone myself.
I did contact yourself, Michelle Blais, I believe and you were very helpful in sending out an email to Town Hall stating that we had a 3/12 pitch roof and that we needed to have a permit ASAP because our roof was leaking. This intervention on your part did get the permit given to us within 3 days and not the expected 3 weeks.
6-The next day I was told we wouldn’t have anybody coming by to do our roof that weekend because there were no crews who could work Labour Day Weekend.
7-The weekends were chosen and agreed upon because I specifically wanted to make sure I was here to be able to answer any questions that might occur.
8-Work was then scheduled to begin Friday September 9, when I was at work and not here. This wasn’t what I agreed to but I had no choice but comply because I needed my roof to be done. The crew called me and told me I had to have extra work done, specifically a ventilation canal on the ridge of the roof that increased the cost of the roof by almost 2000. A complete surprise to what Marc-Andre told us upon the estimation originally despite his going onto our roof and even looking into our attic space when he made his estimate.
9-When the work was complete the following day I was happy with the job and the crew who were there on the date of September 10.
10-September 15, a new crew came by and started the soffits while I left for work before 7:00 AM and by the time I got back for lunch at 11:45 had finished most of one side.
At the end of the day I got back and saw the mess they had left for me to clean up.

I tried to get some satisfaction from Louis-Filipe Ribeiro and all he offered was an insulting $50 discount.

I would recommend DuroToit to people on their work but their logistics and customer service is terrible. Their work crews are above average but their office personnel need to get much better in how they deal with their dissatisfied customers.
