My best friend took me to Michael's for a celebratory dinner last night and it was quite the experience. We did the prix fixe 5 course menu with wine parings and it was nothing short of amazing. The staff were all very professional, attentive and informative when we had questions about the wines. We felt so spoiled and pampered and enjoyed every second of the evening. I definitely plan on going back. If you're looking for a place to dine like royalty, Michael's is the place to go!!

Unfortunately after having a very nice dinner among friends for a birthday. When asked for our bills the Manager Steve was very unhelpful. He was not willing to split bills for individual drinks even when we had paid a deposit prior to arrival for dinner upon booking the reservation. We were fine with paying for dinner all on one bill as this was arranged with our host. But it was unreasonable that we could not pay for our drinks individually. For a first impression at your restaurant very disappointing and I would not recommend it to friends. Especially when management was not willing to do anything to make things easier. Seems he didn’t care and after spending that kind of money I would except to be treated much better.

Happy I was .Looking forward to finishing my meal . unreal.over 50 dollars and. Didn't get to finish my steak .In on disability. Don't get steak that often .65 years old. My .favorite food steak n baked potato .waitress. Needs to be more careful to make sure people are thrust eating and not. Assume. GOD. BLess. Phyllis. Crist

A few weeks ago, I had dinner at Michael's for the first time on special occasion; and unfortunately we had a less than ideal experience. After discussing the matter with the restaurants manager, Carlo, we were invited back to the restaurant for what was nothing short of a spectacular evening. After our second dinner at Michaels, I can assure you that the food is cooked to perfection - (one of the best cooked steaks in town) and the restaurant has a vast selection of fine wines for any pairing. Aside from the great food - the most impressive part of my experience at Michaels is the staff and management team. I can not fully express the level of accommodation, knowledge, and attentiveness we experienced during our second visit to Michaels. Thanks to the amazing care of the restaurants manager and the service staff on our second visit, I have nothing but great things to say about Michael's. If you are looking for an upscale steak house for night on the town or to celebrate an occasion with you friends or loved one Michael's on Simcoe is a great choice. If your experience was anything like ours you will leave feeling on top of the world.

We traveled from Niagara on the Lake into Toronto, booked into a hotel for the night and were looking forward to a Christmas celebration meal with our grown kids - the first time ever we have opted out of the usual home cooked turkey celebration. Our reservation at Michael's was for 7.30pm and we arrived promptly. Michael's was fully booked that evening, and so was very busy. We were seated by a very nice young lady, and ordered drinks. Within five minutes, it became apparent that the evening was not going to go well when the pianist/vocalist (positioned withing 10 feet of our table) began performing at such an intrusive level of volume that it was impossible to conduct a conversation at our table. Even the wait staff were having to shout at us for us to understand them. We quickly decided to simply finish our drinks and leave to try and find another restaurant that could take us. At the wait staff's insistence, we were persuaded to re-locate to a quieter part of the restaurant, and were relieved to find that our new table was much more suited to our expectations. By now it was about 8.05pm. We continued to order drinks, and though our new waiter ( a young man this time) was pleasant and affable, it took until approximately 9.15pm for our meal to be served. The meal when it finally arrived, was fine. We had actually eaten at Michaels on a previous occasion, so we knew the food would be good. However, the prolonged and disjointed progression of events left us feeling that the evening, intended to be a special family celebration, was very much less of an occasion than we had hoped for. To be clear, the staff were courteous and polite, the food was to a high standard, but a two star rating is the best we can offer based on this experience. We wont be going again.

When I want to go somewhere to have fun, Michaels is top of mind. From top to bottom it is an outstanding establishment.

My wife and I had an awful experience here on Valentine's Day, and would highly recommend going to another steakhouse in Toronto.

- Extremely slow service - over 20 mins wait for 1 cocktail and 1 glass of wine, appetizers coming out at different times and in pieces (served us 2 oysters while the rest were prepared because it was taking so long), and then the second our appetizers were done, they were replaced with our main (literally as our appetizer plates were being taken away the steaks were put down on our table)
- We both ordered an 8 oz Filet, which go for $50 each. My steak was an awful cut, was fatty, and should have never left the kitchen. The staff/management took it back, but were hardly apologetic. I was not interested in waiting another 30 mins for a new one. I am not someone who ever sends food back, this was actually a first for me, but it was just terrible.
- For the price you are paying here, I would highly recommend going to Morton's, Barberian's, or really any other quality steakhouse in the city.

We were so disappointed with Michael's and will never return. We have even shared our feedback with the restaurant directly via email, and have not received any response. I would give it zero stars if that were an option.

Just had my 40th last night at michaels. This place is awesome from the front of the house to staff everyone was great and the steaks were out of this world. Everything about this place says class act all the way. Thanks for everything.

Went to Michael last evening with a party of 20 people for a friends 30th birthday. Everything was amazing from the food to wine to even the service during dinner. Our entire experience was ruined by our server at the end of the evening being completely and utterly rude to numerous members in our party about billing. It was pre-requested for seperate bills in the email and at the host stand and we were told that it would take longer but could be done. Once we asked for our bill our server completely changed her attitude and treated us horribly. I have never felt so belittled by a server in my life. I will obviously return for the wonderful food and of course great atmosphere but will never again be bringing a large group to this venue. We had two servers and one was wonderful the entire time but the other server/bartender needs to know how to treat her guests properly the entire evening not just when she feels like it. Yes if there was a policy with billing we would have been happy to talk to a manager about it ... no need for rudeness

We love to go to Michael's just to see the friendly faces of the people who work there. The reception is awesome. We appreciate the owner's kindness. We will definitely be returning.
