I have never written a bad review, this is my first one; that's how bad my experience was.

Issues with manager, staff, jet tub not working properly and coffee maker totally rusted through.

Before I booked, I spoke with Ted, the manager, to see if they could accommodate a gluten-free diet, since the meal plan was already included with the luxury cabins. Two days later, I received a reply from the manager saying that he confirmed with the Chef that they could indeed provide gluten-free meals so I went ahead and booked a luxury cabin, Grenville cabin to be specific. When I arrived I introduced myself to the manager and advised him I was the person who had requested the gluten-free diet. His response was: “I would not have recognized your voice”. Right there, that should of raised a red flag. Fast forward ... there was a pre-set menu for each meal with 3 different options for each 3 course meal. I advised the server I had made arrangements for gluten-free meals and her response was: “Oh! I don't know”. Can you please check with the Chef to see what I can eat. The first option on the menu, the salmon and asparagus were gluten-free. I slowly found out as the meals went by that they did not provide gluten-free meals. No substitutes at all but their solution was rather to just take out the items that have gluten and eat the rest. Lunch was burgers, sandwiches and wraps. When I pointed that out to my server, it seems she wasn't even quite sure what gluten was and after I explained I couldn't eat any of the bread on the menu she suggested I have the burger without the bun which I ended up having because I was starving! The burger patty was 1/4 inch thick with 1 piece of iceberg lettuce, an unripened slice of tomato with 3 red onion slices. Meanwhile all the other guests are having 3 course meals especially for dinner. Prime rib, sirloin steak, etc followed by decadent desserts which i could not have since I could not eat gluten or dairy. By the following day I was fed up as breakfast and lunch menu remained the same. I actually looked for and found a gluten-free bakery (not an easy task when you are in the woods) and drove out to purchase some food to bring back to the kitchen for the Chef to cook for me. That day I drove to Kingston (40 mins away) to eat lunch to ensure I would have a good meal. I now produced the kitchen with gluten-free bread for my breakfast and a gluten-free bun for my lunch and I started making up my own menu. I finally spoke with the dinner Chef, Tracy-Ann, who to my surprise told me the manager had never advised her that I was here and requested a gluten-free diet and that she would have a word with him the following day. Unbelievable. I never saw Ted after I checked in. Other issues I had were with the jet bathtub in the cabin, which is one of the reasons I booked that to begin with. I could not access the menu on the tub to start the jets and advised reception of this. They gave me printed instructions and right away i knew it was not working as the menu did not light up. They requested housekeeping to come have a look and when I mentioned that perhaps it would be best to send maintenance instead I was sharply and rudely told that Housekeeping had been made aware of the problem. Sure enough maintenance did show up later but was unable to rectify the problem. The jets would go on and off by themselves when the tub was full and after i drained the water they would still go on and off several times and produce a really loud noise, where I would have to run to the bathroom to try to turn them off. Obviously they were on a timer but without the menu panel they couldn't be turned off. Reception never checked back with me on this issue but maintenance would ask every time I ran into them. Also the coffee maker in the cabin was in a deplorable state. The heating element was all rusted out. Time to check out and when the receptionist asked how my stay was I told her very disappointing and absolutely frustrating. I proceeded to tell her that I had made prior arrangements for gluten-free and dairy-free meals with Ted, who was standing beside her, and had received a confirmation that you could accommodate me while looking directly at the manager and he nodded in agreement. I explained in details what had transpired and how little I had eaten and that I had to resort to buying my own supplies for the Chef since she did not know I was coming and did not have any ingredients or substitutes for me. And I also mentioned the tub. She apologized several times but Ted just stood there with a blank look on his face and had nothing to say and did not offer a single apology even after I told him that the Chef was not aware of me coming nor of my request; neither did he offer a credit, or discount or anything at all. I was simply presented with the invoice at full price. $1200. for 3 days! Unbelievable. Absolutely unprofessional. I will never go back to Loughborough Inn nor would I recommend this place. As a long time guest commented to me: 'This is the perfect way to run a place with minimal upkeep and charge the most money!”

A great place to spend time with your loved ones. We stayed in the log cabins of Loughborough Inn. The cabin was clean, eco-friendly and at the same time well equipped. The wood burning fireplace definitely brought the exact mood of the nights. The food they served was delicious too. Just loved the place! I will be returning soon!!!

Such an astonishing destination to spend time with loved ones. Neat and well-organized cottage. Staffs are very homely and professional. Loughborough inn is a great place to hang out for families with smaller kids and teens. Hiking through the walking trails of Kingston was a remarkable experience and a great memory
