They doubled my quote and made threats
I had an awful experience with this company. A quick search will reveal google reviews with complaints such as damaged furniture, no communication, late pick up times, zero compensation, and quotes that doubled before dropping off the furniture. Unfortunately, I did not look up these reviews before I committed to using Trillium movers for the move of my two bedroom apartment. I was quoted between 350-400$ total for moving my two bedroom apartment in Mississauga into two separate locations: a home in Brampton and a home in Ajax. I was told by staff at Trillium movers that there would a scaling fee of about 26 cents per item if we required over night storage and next day delivery. We did not require this additional service and had the delivery done same day for both locations. Upon arrival at our first drop off location in Brampton, I was told that before I can make a payment I would need to call their head office and get my quote over the phone. I called and was then quoted about 1300$ for my move. I asked to speak to a manager and we were passed around to different staff members who told us if we did not pay the total in full, that they would place our belongings into a storage facility located in Scarborough and would have to pay even more fees!! We decided to call them back and ask for a quote for the exact same move. A girl on the phone quoted about 450$ and said that is the final price. She mentioned the 26 cent scaling fee is for over night storage only. We called back again and brought this to their attention. We had received the same quote and we were obviously being taken advantage of! They refused to release any of our belongings to us until payment was made. The manager was cold and condescending, unprofessional, and rude. It was outrageous and I was of course devastated. I am a single mother of a 7 year old and the whole reason I was moving was to live with family because I could no longer afford to pay rent. To top it off my daughter's dresser was broken and there was substantial damage to other items during that move. We paid them the 1300$ and then they charged an additional 3% of the total because I used my credit card, totaling about 1413$. We are so disappointed that this company has been getting away with misleading their customers this way. They offered zero apology, remorse, compassion, or compromise in my situation.

Horrible Service
I give one star because most of my stuff made the trip from Winnipeg to Ottawa. Unfortunately I wanted, and had expected, all of my stuff to make.

Dealing with this company was a hassle from the second they got my things loaded into their truck.

The final price was double what they quoted for a one bedroom apartment.

On top of that there were at least two unaccounted for boxes (actually one box and a bag) and my vacuum. When they came to drop off the items they unloaded a chair that wasn't mine, which I quickly pointed out to them.

I called them immediately when I noticed items were missing (the bag and vacuum were to easy to spot) and they sent me the paperwork to file a claim. I told them that I wanted the items and asked them to contact the truck and they told me that they could check their warehouse but that the truck had already left to the next location.

I followed up by email no less than three times after asking if there was any luck locating my items. They would apologize, tell me they would contact the warehouse and message me when they had a reply and I never heard from them again.

I do not recommend.

Far from Friendly service
The move started off fairly well. The movers were very late to pick up my stuff; however, my son said they appeared to be careful with the packing. That being said they charged for saran wrap on my furniture which consisted of a bedframe and a dresser. They never wrapped the bedframe pieces, and instead lost cams and screws and somehow managed to get greasy hand prints on every piece. The movers said oh it is just screws you can get more. Then they never delivered the soft top for my jeep. I was quite suspicious of the weight but as everyone else said they make you pay before they will unload the truck. I did weigh all of my stuff and was indeed charged for 1000 pounds more than I actually had. The movers were supposed to give me back $30 for the wardrobe boxes and I literally had to chase them down the street to get the money and the paid invoice.

They also left a box belonging to someone else here and will not respond when I ask if I can help to locate the owner.

The transport planner was very rude on the phone and offered me a $50.00 credit for the inconvenience of not calling me when my stuff arrived in Toronto, and claimed that they were in the 12 to 18 day window I was quoted even though it was now 35 days.

I am sorry I never checked them out better before committing to having them move me. I was sold on the family business.

I would not recommend these people to my worst enemy.

Terrible customer service...
I wish I had read these reviews before shipping with Trillium.

I shipped from BC to NS and throughout the process the company has been vague about when I might expect the goods to arrive. First I was told 10 days, and then 14 + days, and now it has been nearly a month and I am still waiting for my things. When I called the company to address this, the relocation planner was passive aggressive and did not respond to my concerns. I don't think that it is unreasonable to expect a company to be able to tell it's customers up front what to expect when using their services....

Don't ship with Trillium.

Awful company of crooks
Please avoid this company at all costs!!!! They will bring nothing but hardship to your life.

Issues include but are not limited to:

- Rescheduling the delivery at the very end of the business day right before the delivery was scheduled the next morning.

- Being insulted and called a liar by dispatchers for telling them that they had indeed given me a window of time for the delivery.

- Provided a price at that time that was greatly more then had been quoted.

- Threatened to withhold my goods and insinuated that damage would be done if they had to hold onto it any longer then the planned delivery time.

- Delivered the goods late even after changing the delivery time.

- Broke several items and tried to hide them upon delivery to go along with there being missing items.

- Did not provide any paperwork whatsoever upon delivery.

- When receipts were finally provided more then a week later they showed charges for storage even though the shipment was never stored and free storage was promised.

- When I weighed my goods at home I found there to be a weight discrepancy of 1000 lbs from the phony scale ticket that was provided.

- Informed me that they could do nothing because if I wanted I could have gotten a rescale even though I found out the weight the day before delivery. Then was told that the shipment had already left, there was no way to get it back to the dispatching place, and no way to change the delivery without charging me more. How then was I going to get a rescale?

- Gave limited recourse for all issues and were unwilling to be reasonable in making amends for there actions during the move.

- Provided minimal to no reimbursement for all of the damaged goods simply saying that I was getting out ahead by not having to pay the deductible.

Truly a horrible experience in which I was scammed for more then $500.00 in faulty scale weights. Much damage to goods. Frank disregard for clients even though they are a so called "family company".

Do not use this company. Do not hire them even if they seem good to start. This is a ploy and as soon as the goods are picked up the good service ends because they know they can hold your goods for ransom.

PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Moving Services
PLEASE READ - If you are looking for a moving company absolutely DO NOT use Trillium moving and storage. Besides being 7.5 hours late on move day which created a whole slew of problems, they gave me an email quote of $2,300 and upon arrival in NS charged me over double the quote price. They require a certified cheque before releasing my belongings, so your out of luck if they have not done the job you paid for. It took 6 weeks and 1 day for my belongings to arrive. They broke my king size bed frame and T.V, lost $150 worth of my belongings and damaged every single piece of my furniture in big ways. ( broken parts, gouged and dented) Their employees led me to believe the company would take care of damages done through an insurance claim which took approximately 9 weeks to process. I had to document with pictures all my claims of damage. The claim was over $5000 in damages and they are offering me $75. They told me I needed to have added additional insurance coverage to have had better coverage. That they are sorry for the damages done, but basically too bad.
They said that the money I saved by not getting additional insurance could be used now to replace the things they lost, destroyed and damaged. I paid this company approximately $5000 to lose, destroy and damage my belongings. Their lack of action is unethical and immoral. Please do not make the same mistake as me.

do not use them
I am a truck driver that did move furniture when I was younger . My experience was bad in my opinion they are not movers but 5 years girls that can not do a man job. My driver try to find any excuses not to do anything I know I was the mover and was helping on many moves with different company's and this is the worst one. the packing is not good try too fill boxes to full and to heavy. They did not wrap items individually with paper inside the boxes that will cause damage and breakage insides the boxes. They are not professional movers when they unladed they did care where they put stuff just wanted to get the truck empty and leave. They left me with a big mess that toke me many hours strait out. I call the head office but no help to get the driver to help me get things clean up. Trillium just want your money and do the bear minimum for it
