Lucas Contracting

This is not a roofing company but a general contractor. They will smooth-talk you to get your business but once on the site, the workers are sloppy and unprofessional. Right from the install by untrained teenagers which damaged my eavestroughing, and left nails and debris all over my yard and on laneway - up to the later discovered leaks and improperly installed venting - it was a bodge job! Another roofer inspected it later and was laughing at how unprofessional a job they did. It cost a lot of money to Fix. Better to have it done professionally in the first place. RUN Don't Walk away from Lucas!!!!

Lucas and his team came to fix a job another contractor messed up.. they did extremely high quality work and kept me updated each step of the way.

I would certainly recommend them to anyone who needs a contractor.

We had a new metal roof, soffits, eavestroughs and leaf guards installed by Lucas O'Connor in April 2012. There were problems from the outset with rain running behind the eavestroughs and down the walls.
After the first snow in January this year (2013) some of the eavestroughs became detached and many of the leaf guards fell off. We also had snow and ice slamming from the upper to the lower roof as Mr O'Connor had told us we did not require snow stops with a metal roof.
Mr O'Connor then told us that the advertised warranty does not include snow (In Ottawa ? - we have this in writing!) and what we have experienced could be expected in an Ottawa winter. (None of our neighbours had any problems, even those with metal roofs) We have since determined that very few screws were used to attach the leafguards, possibly because of product incompatibility with the eavestroughs (can't do it)and the eavestroughs screws do not go through to the fascia board.
So far Mr O'Connor has refused to remedy the faults, leaving us with no option but to progress to small claims court.
