Do not bring your kids here after 7pm. We had a nice dinner where we spent over $125 with a family of 5 between 6:15 and 7:30. Near the end of our meal, the manager came by and snapped at our kids that they were too loud. Apparently the only other patrons in the restaurant had complained about the noise from our table. With no warning or comment, she chose to speak directly to the kids to be quiet. We then went to go to the washroom and were told that it was a single washroom and that we shouldn't use it. Can you imagine 3 kids ages 8', 6 and 3 using a washroom together with their dad. When I was leaving the manger continued to stick to her guns, didn't apologize and said my kids shouldn't make so much noise in her restaurant. I suggested if she had an issue, she should speak to the parents and not the kids but clearly she still didn't get it. Not a family restaurant.
We go every friday for grilled cheese and it's always delicious! Excellent fish and chips too!
I've been going here lately with co-workers for lunch on Fridays. They have a nice grilled cheese special with toppings that change regularly. Last week it was a meat lovers!
live right up the street from the Abbott on Eglinton, which makes it a place I visit frequently. The food and service is impeccable. They always have a great selection of specials, and everything is made fresh in house. The cheese crock pot appetizer is a must try, and my must try main course is the pork schnitzel! I had my 25th birthday there and Nancy ( the owner, or part owner) was so sweet, so excited to be a part of my celebration so it made it that much more intimate and special. I sort of thought i would just make the reservations and that would be it, but she even invited to me to sit down prior to my dinner and go over specifics with her. I had shots and appetizers ordered weeks in advanced that she brought out when all my guests arrived, and all my friends were so so pleased. The ambiance is low key with a fire place in the main dining area, and a bar setting in the front of the restaurant with a floor to ceiling window looking out on Eglinton avenue. I recommend it for family, a first date, or a small party.
The kindest and most welcoming service staff are here at the Abbott. It's a warm, friendly family gathering place with the Best Pub food offered in Toronto and beyond! You can relax and take your time or ask for a quick takeout. What a treat to find such a place in this neighbourhood. We have been regular customers since it opened and each visit gets better and better!

Went for Sunday Brunch with family and two young kids. Service was excellent.
Food was incredible and atmosphere most relaxing. Excellent addition to the neighbourhood.

Food and service here are always great. Have been in the cosy back dining room many times and always enjoy good food, reasonable prices and servers who know their stuff. Only thing to suggest is fixing the booths....way too little leg room to be comfortable.
Have now eaten 3 times at the new Abbot on Eglinton - love that place. Great selection of beers on draft - and delicious food. The service was so friendly! About time Eglinton had a place where you can either go for a drink - or take the family for a dinner. Prices were extremely reasonable.
I have wanted to eat at The Abbot ever since it opened. Today I didn't have time to to sit down to eat so I asked if I could order something to take back to my office. I ordered the club sandwich, it was delicious! I just love their coleslaw! It is the best Ive ever tasted! They must use a special type of mayo.
I went here for lunch yesterday, had the burger. Very good, and exceptional for the price. I went today tried the chicken burger, even better than yesterday. Great environment and much better quality than other places in the neighbourhood. It's nice to be able to just get some high quality pub food for lunch. A co-worker was saying that they make their own bread too. Worth trying if you're in the neighbourhood.
