In Balance is great, my back was a mess before I started and it's been rock solid since. Everyone is friendly, the atmosphere is great and it's a solid workout!

When I started with Lisa five years ago my back would "go out" at least twice a year, putting me out of commission for weeks at a time. I couldn't do many of the moves, but that didn't matter because she showed me how to modify positions or movements to protect my back while strengthening my core muscles. Today, my back is orders of magnitude better and I actually have muscles (okay, so they're hidden under the post-pregnancy blubber that never seems to go away.) I highly recommend this friendly, quiet studio where everyone receives hands on attention from knowledgable and sensitive trainers who can still give a mean work-out.

I remember it was December 2010 when I decided to start Stott Pilates for general health and wellbeing. Did a quick internet search for Pilates studios in Ottawa area and up came In Balance Pilates studio located in Kanata.

I had never done Pilates before, so, I went to enquire about classes and other details at the studio. There I met Lisa Khera, the owner, for the first time. I must say that it was a very pleasant and fruitful meeting! She asked me to fill a questionnaire about my general health and explained to me the basic principles of Stott Pilates. Lisa also suggested that I do a couple of private classes with her to understand more about the technique, following which I could do the group mat classes.

I thoroughly enjoyed my private classes with Lisa! She explained each move, maneuver, and technique very clearly and effectively. She also emphasized that we should listen to our bodies. So, we should make a good effort, but never overdo it.

After my private lessons with Lisa, I decided to start Pilates regularly at her studio. Since then I have been doing it two times a week and I love it! Pilates has really helped me a lot. My body is much toned and leaner now and I have a better posture. I lost about 10 kilos of weight (from 88 kilos to 78 kilos, Height: 188 CM). Also, my waist size reduced to 32” from 36”. I feel much more energetic and am very satisfied with my current physique!

Lisa has thorough and in-depth knowledge of Stott Pilates. She has been certified for several years now. I have also had the pleasure of training with two other trainers Vanessa and Caroline at the In Balance Pilates studio in Kanata. I must say that both of them are well qualified and knowledgeable to teach Pilates. I take this opportunity to compliment Lisa for choosing the right people in her team!

In all, I have had a very successful and enjoyable experience at the In Balance Pilates studio in Kanata!

Five out of five for Lisa and her team :)
