This was an exceptional experience! The Google reviews are spot on. The service was great, and the food and portions were awesome. Special shoutout to our server, ZZ, who took care of our table. ZZ was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly, extremely helpful, and patient. This barbecue spot is definitely the one I would go back to in a heartbeat. Five out of five! Nothing but praises for the staff and the food. This place is now something that’s going to bring me over to this area.
Stopped at Barque on our culinary adventure food tour and got hit with brisket tacos so good I briefly considered quitting my day job to become a professional taco groupie. Smoky, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth perfection wrapped in a tortilla — basically edible happiness. Cozy vibe, friendly staff, and clearly a team that treats their smoker like a holy altar. If you’re in Roncesvalles, come hungry… and maybe wear stretchy pants.
We had the smoked chicken wings, crispy chicken tenders, and the charred broccoli salad – everything was delicious! The flavors were spot on, and the portions were generous. Service was also excellent – friendly and attentive throughout. Definitely a great spot to enjoy good BBQ in Toronto
Dined here for dinner last night with my girlfriend and another couple. This place came highly regarded and it was worth it.
We each got a drink and the local craft beer was very good. It’s a nice touch that they leave a cinnamon popcorn on the table for you to snack on before your appetizers and your entrées arrive.
We got the we got the meat meat platter that serves 4 to 6 people comes with brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, ribs, some sweet pickles, dill, pork, rinds, and tortillas with a nice black bean and cord medley in the middle. The couple we were with ordered an Affogato for dessert which they said was delightful.
I do wish the meat on the platter came to the table hotter The meat was about lukewarm, and the cornbread was a little dry. All in all still a positive experience. Very nice ambience inside indoor and outdoor seating available.
Great service, great experience, I would recommend.

Trying too hard to be extreme rather than approachable. Food was tiny proportions with very big price tags. Most of it was too spicy, too deep fried or too masala. Nothing was just enough to enjoy a taste. We tried everything. Spent WAY too much for a regular family dinner. Came away hungry and unimpressed. Kids ate chicken fingers and fried which we can get anywhere. Staff were nice. Brought a free dessert for a birthday. And we paid no gratuity because they already charge too much for deep fried spicy bones.
You’ve had a really good barbeque here we had beef, brisket and beef brisket burger, and pork burger I would recommend coming here again and try the platter for three people. Definitely a great place to visit. We had puppies so we sat outside at the patio. There’s two different patio areas one for drinks and one for sit down and eat.
Been a long time since I was on RONCY and at BARQUE. It was definitely per-COVID and a nice sunny summer day on their patio.
Glad to see they have survived as a RONCY staple. A winter's cold walk was ok but nice to get inside!!!
As a Saturday BRUNCH I was a bit disappointed with the lack of BBQ items but we managed. The NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH ($26) was crispy and delicious ...and not too hot (for me I am not so good with heat....) as to enjoy its flavours. Served with a generous portion of thin crispy fries with a hotter paprika seasoning ...excellent!!!
The SMOKED DUCK PANCAKES ($26) was a bit of a bizarre flavour combination but I tried it. Light fluffy pancakes (3) and the blueberry compote was thick and flavourful........but the duck just did not do it for me. A side of SMOKEY DILL PICKLE SLAW ($12) was a combination of the vinegary-creamy southern low country states but I really do prefer mine the more northern creamy.
Friendly and expert service and apparently a restaurant which INCLUDED TIPS IN THEIR PRICES.......which I have NEVER experienced....here in Canada anyway.
I was really hoping for a larger BBQ selection for lunch but I guess I should have checked the site before we went in. Also,
I obviously do not get into the 416 often as I thought that the menu selections were a bit pricy, however, I was told by my more "travelled" daughters that that seems to be the norm for Toronto brunches.I think I will stay out here in the more reasonable "burbs".

We were recommended this restaurant by my daughter-in-law. We met up with another couple. Fabulous experience, this will become a regular event in the future. The menu is straightforward, plenty to choose from. Good value for money. You order at the bar just like an English pub, no need for waiters. The ambiance is welcoming and there is a karma of vitality. The meals we selected were tasty and filling enough for our needs. Gluten free, a real bonus.
Our review won't be able to do this restaurant justice - but it might be the best meal we have ever eaten! Ordered the Sampler for Two and there was plenty of food - all of which was delicious. Our favourite was the pulled chicken and the beef brisket. Staff were so lovely and the atmosphere was great. Very family friendly. We even got a little gift (jar of seasoning) as we left.
First time dining at this smokehouse, and I must say we'll be back ( with friends next time)! A cool, laid back vibe this Roncy restaurant was the perfect stop for lunch.
I had the chopped brisket sandwich on Portugeuse bun with broccoli side salad and my husband had the double smashed oklahoma onion burger with the same salad. wowzer!...both were outstanding!
In addition to traditional smoked meats, they offer plentiful options for vegetarian, vegan, dairy and gluten-free.
Check it out!
