Splitsville Entertainment

I have gone to Splitsville many times since it was newly renovated in 2009, and I must say that I am very impressed. The staff is always friendly, if not a little frazzled on a busy weekend night. It blows my mind how impatient some people can be when going to an obviously very busy establishment. I have seen other customers complain to the staff about wait-times for a lane, among other things, but any such complaints (from what I have seen) are handled in a calm manner. The food is very good for a bowling alley - though a tad overpriced; for this reason, I don't always eat at Splitsville.

The arcade and bumper cars are also tons of fun when my friends and I decide to give them a shot, but we have experienced some issues with a couple of machines. Again, I chalk this up to how busy the place can get, and one of the biggest downfalls, in my experience, is how short-staffed the arcade always seems to be.

I also recently chose to book my boyfriend's birthday party there - it was a HUGE success! The girl that I dealt with in booking it, Jamie, was very helpful, and spoke very pleasantly on the phone. She even dealt with some day-before changes through e-mail for me, no questions asked. Honestly, the price is a little higher to reserve lanes on a Saturday night, but we found it worth not having to wait, so we could get right down to bowling, eating, and drinking!

To wrap things up, I'll say that Splitsville isn't perfect (very few places are), but they do try very hard to make their customers happy. I have yet to encounter a truly unpleasant staff member, the food is good, and the environment is just fun! Four out of five stars, even on their worst day.

That Bob guy should never be the maqnager he is destroying the businees, he has no clue how to treat customers.

My son wanted to have his Birthday Party at Splitsville Entertainment. First the booking, you HAVE to confirm numbers before a certain date or else you are locked in to pay the amount for people you originally listed. I called a day before deadline to tell them that one less person would be coming, was told that someone would call me the next day to confirm (which was the Deadline) - Nobody called...called the next day and was told that I was a day late in confirming and I would be charged the full amount. After some back and forth they did agree to amend the amount of people coming and drop the charge down accordingly. Now let me start by saying that they tag on a 15% gratuity which you pay UP FRONT before you get service. The service we received at the party was hardly deserving of this amount. For starters, the contract stated one hour of bowling starting at 1:15pm - This isn't the case and is false advertising. They shut our lanes down at 2pm so that they could "coordinate us" to the birthday room. We arrived at 1pm and spent 15 minutes trying to get shoes for everyone (they were all out of siz 13 shoes for the kids) the hostess finally shows up and asks if there's anything she could do...well we were already bowling at this point so No...10 minutes ago we could have really used the help. We were then seated in our party room and the food was hot and ready which I will give them credit for. We were then asked if we wanted the ice cream that was included in our package, I said yes (with 30 minutes to go in the room)....15 minutes later, still nothing - Had to go and track it down and get the birthday cake out of the fridge as the kids were all done eating and had opened the presents and were getting restless. Finally got everything together and we finished up. Overall, the kids had a good time but I do have to say that it's probably the easiest 15% they've ever earned as they hardly did anything to earn it and it's a forced item on the bill. Would never go back there again, would probably stick to Sherwood next time. They aren't as flashy and not as modernized, but the service more than makes up for it as we had a party there last year and they provided better service with just the people working there without having a designated "Event Coordinator" or "Hostess"...You get the feeling at Splitsville that they're more interested in getting your dollars than providing a decent service. Out of Chatters, Jungle Jam, Michaels, Splitsville Entertainment and Sherwood Bowling...Splitsville has been by far the worst party to date we have thrown.
