Dormaster Garage Doors & Windows

We had called this company for an emergency call at around 9pm. Our cable came off the track because something got caught under while the door was shutting. The repair guy came within 2 hours as expected. He briefly looked at the door and immediately started to point out everything was "wrong". He tried to upsell us on everything that was not needed and insisted he had to take everything a part to look for more things wrong. Our house is only 2 years old and there were no signs of any damages to any of the garage door parts. All he needed to do was to loosen the tension of the spring so the door would even out again and put the cable back on the track and tighten the spring. The repair guy said he didn't think he could do anything but would try so all he did was the first two steps so that the garage would close but insisted he was not able to tighten the spring and everything had to be replaced. This cost us $200 to hear someone trying to make money off us. We felt he purposely didn't tighten the spring just because we didn't fall for his trap. My husband watched a YouTube video the next morning and tightened the spring himself with no issues. Our garage door works great now but no thanks to this company. Unreliable and dishonest.
