B-Chocolate, Chocolates&Cafe

I was walking back from downtown when I noticed this cute little chocolatier shop. I went to check it out because it said that it sold gelato (and my husband being in the ice cream business, I'm always curious to engage in conversation with other business owners in the same craft). When I stepped inside, I asked to try the Strawberry Balsamic gelato because it sounded like an interesting flavour. While the manager was finishing up cleaning something behind a counter, I noticed that there was a washroom I could use, so I went to the loo first. when I came out, the manager scooped a taste of the gelato for me to try. I mentioned that I couldn't taste the balsamic, to which he responded, "I knew you would say that." He then continued to say, "I knew you were only here to use the washroom." WHATTTTT?!!!! As if that wasn't bad enough, he said that he doesn't serve "Starbucks drinking customers because HE only uses organic and the finest ingredients!!!" And the sad part is, I wasn't even drinking Starbucks, I was holding a Balzac's coffee!!! I was SO shocked at how SNOBBY and stuck up this manager was AND that he completely JUDGED me by the cup I was holding! I just repeated myself by saying that I genuinely wanted to taste the gelato, to which he again said, "next time, you should just say you needed to use the washroom first if that was the reason why I was coming in!?!!!!!" No wonder why he had absolutely no customers in the store. Learn to treat your customers with respect and don't judge them based on a cup they're holding or the fact that they used the washroom that was there while you were cleaning up the counters. What a terrible experience that left an AWFUL taste in my mouth! And by the way, the Strawberry Balsamic gelato was far less than mediocre.
