Gordon and Darcy…

I want to let you know that our move to Calgary went very well. Gordon was helpful and polite, answering numerous questions, providing advice and a fair quote. Darcy was great keeping us up to date on the status of our pick-up and delivery. The fellows who made the Saskatoon pick-up were professional and did a great job dis-assembling and protecting our furniture and other goods. Everyone I dealt with was helpful, pleasant and friendly resulting in a stress free move. Well done! I would highly recommend Saskatoon Movers.

My wife and I had Saskatoon Movers move us last Wednesday and I have to say it was a really good experience. It was really cold so I was half expecting them not to show up or to try and re-schedule but they pulled up to our place 5 minutes before 9. The guys wrapped all of our furniture and moved really quickly (they were probably motivated to stay warm haha). Everything arrived at our new house in one piece and the movers were very friendly. I would definitely recommend these guys if you need to move.

Saskatoon movers did a great job for me and my husband this last weekend. We have moved 3 times before now and while it is always an awful experience, this time it was pretty good. The movers were super friendly and maybe even a little funny at times. THEY DIDN'T SMOKE. Every other move we have ever had the movers smoking around our furniture. What a mess to get that smell out. Anyways the movers were great, we chowed down on some pizza. Darcy's quote was pretty close and we finished at 8pm. NOW THE UNPACKING!!! Lol. Good guys. I will recommend you guys to anybody I come across. Thanks!!!!!!!!

I would not recommend this moving company to anyone. I will say that the first moving team arrived on time, with a truck that was too small for the job. They were only able to take half of our belongings in the truck, and could not return for a second trip as they were already booked for another move that afternoon. When I initially booked the move 3 weeks in advance I told them that we were moving out of a 2 bedroom apartment but they must have thought I meant a bachelor suite. After the young man in charge of the 2 man team called his boss Gordon, he said that another moving team would be coming to finish the move in at least another hour. After 2 hours had passed I called the company to see where they were. Gordon returned my call and said at least another hour yet. After waiting for roughly another 2 hours and 3 phone calls later, Gordon told me that the guys were grabbing a couple of burgers and coming right over. IT WAS 8 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT!!! I can't believe I actually agreed to it at this point. After calling my wife to break the news, we decided to rebook for the next morning. Do you really think I wanted to watch these guys finishing up at 1 AM IN THE FUCKING MORNING??? Really not a great way to make an impression on the new neighbors. So once the move was done the next day, Gordon offered to discount us an hour and a half for our troubles and he admitted that they "dropped the ball" for overbooking. My wife was able to negotiate a 2 hour discount as we had frozen food spoiling in coolers after waiting until the second day for the freezer to arrive on a hot weekend. We even tipped the guys from both delivery teams as they did do a good job. I forgot to mention, the lead hand from the first team told me that we would only be charged for the first half of the move which turned out to be a lie. What was initially supposed to be a 3 to 4 hour job turned into a two day ordeal.

LETTER I WROTE TO THE MANAGER

Hi there.
I'm not sure who the manager/owner exactly is at this business, but whoever he/she is please forward.

My Mother had booked you guys two months in advance to move her from (address removed )to (address removed) If you take a look on Google map you will see its only about a 6 block move.

To sum up our experience with your company...for lack of a batter term...you guys did a shit job. And by "you guys" I mean the office staff. The movers themselves were excellent to deal with.

I've broken it into point form, so hopefully you can understand the point I am trying to get across, as the two different people we talked to on the phone couldn't quite seem to grasp the concept.

1. Your office called my mother two days before the move to "confirm" her move for Feb 25th...which is surprising since it was booked for the 26th.

2. The time was booked for 8:30am on the 26th. Your guys did not show up until 11:00 and stated they would not be moving the piano and left.

3. Your guys then showed back up at 1:30 and said someone could possibly move the piano on Sunday. (BY this time @ 1:30..NOTHING HAD BEEN MOVED YET)

4. You guys showed back up in a small RENTED u-haul. What kind of moving company doesn't own their own truck? I believe it was a 5 ton truck, which LAUGHABLE...considering this is the 6th time our family has hired movers and they have never showed up in a vehicle that small. Every single moving company we have used previously had shown up in nothing smaller then a semi and 4 guys.

5. Your company sent 3 guys... one of which was not capable of moving anything, he just directed traffic. It came to our attention that 2 of the 3 moving us were not even from your company...just working a side job because you guys did not have anyone...

6. We did not finish moving until 11:30pm. WAAAAAY to late for any "professional" moving company to be moving still.

7. Then to make matters worse, you tried to overcharge us.  We were quoted around $900 depending on the size of the piano. You can imagine our shock when the bill came out to $1400.00. So as any consumer would my mother called your head mover who was an ass on the phone. As me, and my sister, and my fiancée, and my son all listened as the call was on speaker phone.

FIRST OF ALL...NO ONE tries to RIP my mother off and SECOND of all, no one speaks to my mother like that on the phone..ESPECIALLY when we would be considered the "customer". Your customer service is beyond repair.

Then there was a second phone call which at this point my mother was bawling her eyes out because she felt like she was getting taken advantage of. I believe the final cost was $900 and change...There is no way you should have charged her that much.

8. On Sunday when your guys were supposed to show up at 8:30 to move the piano...YOU WERE LATE AGAIN!
HOW HARD IS IT TO BE ON TIME??? The guys did not show up until 10:15... ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

People pay you for a service and your service SUCKS!

You should be have given her a discount on what was quoted, because that was the worst move I have ever been a part of.

Do you not realize that you are in Saskatoon? People in Saskatoon talk, and believe me I have told about 10 people what shitty service your company has provided and each of them has probably told a few people. If you would have at least admitted that your company dropped the ball that is understandable. Everyone makes mistakes. But its the accountability of it that counts.

The only reason we hired you is because of a recommendation by a friend, and we wanted to hire a local company. But obviously that was a huge mistake.

So what am I hoping will come of this email? Probably a phone call by the manager apologizing to my mother for everything your company put her through and if you really wanted to maintain your integrity as a "business", you should probably refund her part of the amount she paid. That would be what they call "the right thing to do".

Thank you for sharing this review. I had a similar experience and BTW Gordon is the manager of this company. My entire experience with this company was lousy!
