I started my working life as a mechanical engineer working for two different architecture/engineering firms in the Toronto area. In my time there, I was either the main or one of the main mechanical designers for approximately 40 projects in the Toronto area designing heating and cooling systems, plumbing, and fire protection systems. I also inspected the construction progress of almost all of these projects. Most of these projects were light commercial (office or retail) or restaurant renovation projects. For home (condo) renovations, this was my third project.

Overall, I recommend considering Square Footage for your next renovation project. They are the first company I have been recommending to friends since we finished.

1) My wife and I enjoyed the design process. Good options were presented to us for layout and materials and our concerns were listened to. Most important: we were told if our decisions were not the best, and what a better decision would be.
2) The work was done to a very high standard by the Square Footage construction team and all of their sub-trades. The materials used were high quality and the installation methods were chosen with durability and longevity in mind. Both Square Footage and the sub-trades told us if there was a better solution than what we were proposing, e.g., light switch locations, fixture types.
3) Finished on-time for our project. No mess was left and there were only a couple closet pulls to be install after they handed the condo back to us, which was because we selected them too late.
4) Budget and timelines were transparent and the construction schedule was detailed down to the week. This was the most transparent breakdown of construction cost I have seen. Weekly progress reports were issued to keep us up-to-date.
5) Having the design and construction from the same firm was a benefit throughout the project. Problems were solved expediently and there were no major communication errors between the design phase and construction phase of the project. This renovation, a complete gut of a condo, was one of the smoothest construction projects I have been involved with.

We have been living in our condo unit for 6 months now and have no material (real) complaints on either the design or build quality.

Once again we trusted Square Footage with an extensive renovation (while we were away). The finished product (finished on time and on budget) is lovely, well done and exactly what we wanted. Thanks ever so much Square Footage (again)!

Right from the beginning we were impressed with the time, effort and attention to detail. Frankie's design was perfect for our family and in a year where we have spent a lot of time at home we couldn't be happier with every aspect. Our kitchen's function has improved exponentially and the style fits our personalities.
John and his team were there on time and extremely tidy. This was important to us as we lived in the house during the Reno.

I would highly recommend Square Footage and when we are ready for the next project I would hire them again.

have used Square Footage for several large and small projects. The owners and staff are professional, courteous and absolutely wonderful at their jobs. I do not have any design ability and this team has transformed my house for us. During the pandemic it has been even more evident how comfortable and functional my house is. I would highly recommend Square Footage!

We've had Square Footage complete a full kitchen reno and later a major reworking of a bathroom. Frankie and her team are amazing professionals. The planning, design and communication are excellent. The work is always completed to the highest standard and on schedule! We're completely happy with the two projects they have completed for us.

This is our second project with Square Footage. Again, they did not disappoint. Our dark and dated bathroom is now light and so much more usable Laura and Frankie were on hand to quickly address any changes that I raised. A special nod to Bob and Steven who attended to the last hiccup in our project. All in all, a very professional team!

Frankie and staff at Square Footage Inc. did a fantastic job on our newly renovated kitchen. This listened to the wish list and were remarkably attentive to details. I love working in this new space. It exceeded our expectations.

We noticed the Square Footage Inc van outside our condo building. We found out that they did 2 renovations in our building and we were able to see their work in person. From talking to their previous clients, we realized that Frankie & John and their team was who we wanted to do our renovations. Frankie listened to our ideas and gave us suggestions. Working with Square Footage was very easy.
We started our renovation a month before the COVID shut down... and Square Footage was there all the way to make sure we would be able to move back into our unit even if the work wasn't 100% completed. They were able to get the contractors to come in and hook up the water and appliances so that we had a livable space. Once COVID restrictions were lifted and suppliers were open again, Square Footage made sure that they got back to our place to finish up the final renos that were outstanding.

John, Frankie & Laura were great to work with and we are very pleased with how our project turned out! Our project involved a kitchen renovation, moving a stairwell, redoing a number of bathrooms and a few odds and ends as well. Their communication through the process was excellent and their team is very knowledgeable. A special shout out to Steve & Bob who were our onsite contacts and did great work. The project finished ahead of schedule - a rarity in projects like these.

We were really happy with the designs they came back with and in the end it turned out amazing. The designs Laura & Frankie put together were functional, look great and incorporated the things we were looking for. We get lots of compliments from guests on how it both feels 'homey' but also comfortable and trendy. Pictures of the kitchen and bathrooms were also submitted and won a number of design awards, which I think is pretty impressive and speaks to the design work. We would highly recommend Square Footage!

We recently completed a large main floor renovation with Square Footage and couldn’t be happier with the results. As we have never attempted a renovation of this size, it was a leap of faith. The design we chose was very different from what we thought we wanted, but we wouldn’t change a thing. Laura did a great job of making the design fit the personality of the house, as well as us. We did have some unforeseen issues come up, which I assume is inevitable, but we were satisfied with the resolution. We also suffered some COVID related supply delays but Frankie and John worked hard to provide us with options to get us up and functioning. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again.
