Was assaulted by Danny Castro (supposed Regional head) after he stole from the locker rooms for the 4th time. He carried a knife and joked about how much he makes from stealing headphones and wallets. He threatened my GF's job (an operations manager) after assaulting me. The most corrupt gyms in chicagoland. People are scared.

Very friendly and helpful staff.

Do not join this gym. They do not keep it maintained. It took 7 months to fix the drinking fountain to get cold water. They only have 1.5 sets of 10 lb weights in the weight section. No medicine balls. The gym is very dirty with mold growing in floor grout. The number of classes is minimal.

Gym atmosphere has gotten a lot better since they revamped the management and installed brand new equipment rumored at $half a million. Very nice juice bar surprisingly sophisticated, offering these amazing superfood smoothies and wraps. I lost a bunch of weight with their juice detox service with expert guidance from friendly staff and I honestly feel ten years younger. Otherwise the gym is massive and there are always free machines. Great steam room, much better than dry saunas at most other gyms.

Good points - some great instructors -Petra and Brenda cannot be beat. That is it for good points.
Things that need change"
1. Poor selection of hand weights in the aerobic room
2. instructors must use LA Fitness music....which has become very, very repetitive...very, very repetitive, very, very repetitive
3. You can feel heat beating down on you from ceiling vents. We have requested fans but have been declined.
4. No classes after noon on Friday...yes people do work out on a Friday
5. Too many Zumba classes.

Worst gym ever - do not ever initiate a conversation with any employee from this corporation as they will harass you (email/phone/mail) and you will never be able to get out of your contract. They prey on people whether you are wise to the gym sales tactics or not. They do not have any phone/email for you to get in touch with anyone, they refuse to give out corporates number, they hang up phones on you, they lie, when you ask in person or by phone to speak with management they are never ever ever around - or apparently have just walked out the door...etc. The gym has old tired Reebok crappy junk equipment and it's never maintained or washed by employees. I've seen Personal Trainers not even wipe down the equipment when they train someone and they leave big puddles of sweat on the machines which are often not working or torn. The bathrooms are disgusting and are never clean, the staff harass you at the front and make you feel like you're entering a jail with all their non security features that are supposed to make me feel safe...but yet they make me feel like a criminal. . . etc.

This has got to be the worst gym in the region. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of professionalism from the management. The gym is not sanitary and all the staff really cares about is having more people sign up in order to have more clients. Obviously client retention is not one of their main concerns since they do not put any effort into being a clean and friendly gym.

I definitely would never recommend this gym to anyone.

I've been a member for years.
Stopped going for a while after unsanitary conditions in the showers/change rooms.

Recently I've started going again, and love the classes, BUT I've had pink eye 3x in less than 6months, due to the cleanliness of this facility!!!!! I've never had pink eye in my life!

Looked on the website to email them, but you can't..... :/
What kind of business doesn't have a "Contact Us" section to their website now a days!?!?!?!

I'll be talking to them personally next.

The classes are drp, equipment old and I. Need of repair. Some managers there need attitude adjustments.

I've been a fitness member at many different gyms over recent years. I move around quite a bit for my business and decided to try out LA Fitness (attracted to the no contract). That's how they get you in, but it's not worth it.. I experienced random fees on my credit card that nobody could explain and didn't feel the equipment was clean. Some staff were friendly, most decent but needed attitude adjustments. I recommend not to go to this place. Its gross.

It is a decent gym with all the equipment you need. I stayed there for one full year and had no major complaints. Their payment plan is inexpensive and there is no contract so you can cancel your membership at any time quick and easy. If you get injured or cannot attend the gym for a period of time, they will freeze your payments. I also love the openness and the atmosphere of the gym. It is definitely a gym worth checking out.

i am so unhappy with the way i have been treated at this club. i do not like the workers or other members- mostly perverted men. trashy place to work out. anyone with any bit of class should not attend this club, you will regret it.

For all the money they steal from their members, they should think about investing some of it towards training their employees/managers on how to deal with customers and how to attract clients in a professional, helpful, and honest matter rather than the current gaining new clients with manipulation and misleading tactics. Worst gym ever.

I have lived in Kitchener for almost 15 years and in this time, I have probably registered with every single fitness club (new and old) in the immediate area- trust me! My wife can show you my membership fees over the last 12 years. Every new club I signed up with, I did not continue the second year (once my 1 year contract was complete). The reasons of not continuing year 2 in these clubs were for obvious reasons: cleanliness, machines always broken, too many people (overcrowded and waiting on machines) rude staff and more.
I have been a member with LA Fitness in Kitchener for the last 3 years. This has by far been the best club I have ever joined! The first thing that got me was no contract. Really? No contract?? Just the other day I asked the managers (Joe and Matt- amazing guys) as to why LA Fitness does not hold members to a minimum 1 year contract. They both looked at each other and smiled and then asked me as to why after 3 years I am still with them? I told them because I’m happy here. Needless to say- I got their point.
This place is spotless, nothing is ever broken- and if something does get broken it’s fixed immediately. The front reception is amazing and the training department is super helpful.
So come on man! If you’re going to complain about something- tell the truth! At least bring up points that are TRUE! Straight up nonsense your talking here. Go work out at home maybe?? I just thought it was right that I voice my opinion to your comment

Whenever I feel like standing around in a sleeveless shirt with my headphones on while gawking at myself in the mirror as I flex as subtly as possible, I go to LA Fitness. I just put some putty in my hair, put my sunglasses on backwards and sort of check my watch every few minutes. It's a good way to kill an hour or so. There's also a lot of ladies to check out, and no dress code, per se.

It looks like there's lots of workout equipment here too, I wouldn't mind trying it out some day.
