When the shop called me to set up the first appointment for alterations, Ina said that I could wait a month and it was no problem because they had a lot of time to get my dress altered. While paying for alterations, Jessica told me that once I pay for particular alterations, they can adjust these alterations as much as needed to get the aspects of the dress to my liking. After the first appointment, I drove home and was not okay with the photos. I went back about 3 weeks later at the end of July and tried the dress on again and did not like the look of the cups and how tight it was around my hips and the length of the sleeves felt different than the sample dress. So I booked an appointment for the beginning of August and checked my dress against the sample dress and discovered it came in quite different than the sample dress. When I asked Jessica why it came different, she said that sometimes it happens and the designer had someone just do it different. I was not impressed that they didn’t catch this sooner and I have a written email after this appointment that they would let me use the sample dress and they promised me to get all the alterations done before September 14. The alterations lady, Melody, was going on holidays to Australia and had a lot of other bride’s dresses on the go. I was not aware at any point until the beginning of August that she was going on holidays. I asked her to get some of the basic work done the weekend before Melody left. The manager, Diana, said they would do this for me over the phone. Later in the day, she called me back and said that I should “Find someone else to do alterations because I changed my mind too many times and now they don’t have time to get the dress done with the seamstress gone for two weeks on holidays.” When I spoke to her on the phone I told her I never wanted to switch seamstresses, Diana reiterated that I come pick the dress up the following Wednesday and get a refund only for the alterations I paid. I told her I didn’t want this to happen and I was shocked that they are kicking me out of their business a month before the wedding with a dress that doesn’t fit me and was half taken apart. However, when I arrived on the Wednesday, I put the dress on. While still in my dress, Diana started talking business and said “Unfortunately, we still feel you need to go elsewhere.” I asked her not to talk business with me while I was still in my wedding dress and talk to me in her office instead. She again told me to find someone else to finish the job and that she would line up another seamstress for me. I said to Diana that I felt very wronged in this situation, that I had written evidence of her promising to get the work done and that if they didn’t they would use the sample dress for me instead, that I felt it wrong for them to blame me for this when it was actually due to their seamstress leaving for two weeks and having too many dresses on the go being altered. I told her this situation made me loose sleep, made me cry in being so upset. At that point I gave up and asked her what she was doing about the money situation of this. I felt I deserved full money back for alterations, the lace I ordered for free for all the travel and gas I wasted. She agreed. However, the dress was half torn apart, there was now a hole in the armpit, the sleeves were still defective from the designer and when I got home there was traces of blood on the skirt from the seamstress.

My sister in law had purchased her dress from Nouvelle...I was with her every step of the way an at the end of the day she got a dress she absolutely loved at a great price, the dress was received QUICKLY.

The women assisting her, who is also the owner, was extremely helpful and wasn't pushy at all.

Since dresses are made to fit your body type there is little to no need for pricy alterations at the end of the day (with the exception of the bustle which was only like 35.00)

The selection is limited however the dresses in stock are gorgeous..Prices are really good too.
