I started getting massages from Cindy just shy of a year and to b honest it is the best massage I have ever had. She is really nice and makes u feel comfortable. I will continue seeing her for regular visits and treats.

I had a session with Cindy after some discomfort from the gym.. I found her very attentive and she focused on the areas of concern with just the right pressure.. Certainly someone I would recommend and I will be booking again!

I love The Pearl!!

This place is truly the jewel of Pickering. I have never had a better massage in my life.

I was surprised as to how sophisticated and elegant it is inside. Design wise, it's definitely better than anything else in Pickering and Ajax.

Mind you, it's not the same caliber as Elmwood Spa, but that's okay.

It isn't as large as I thought it would be, but I liked it that way. I don't like dealing with crowds. When I was at The Pearl, it felt like it was my own personal spa - like my own piece of heaven.

The price is great too! It's the same price I paid at my chiropractic clinic. However, the Pearl has a lot more luxury finishes, and definitely feels more exclusive.

I also like their convenient hours. I often come in late from my office downtown. The Pearl is two minutes away from the Pickering GO station, and they offer appointments until 9:00 pm at night. They're also open Saturday and Sunday.

I think the flexible hours and seven days a week availability is great for those who have busy schedules.

If I had one criticism though, I wish they had internet booking, so I could just book my appointments online without having to call or email.

If you ever go there, you should make that suggestion too, so they will offer it in the future. Thanks.

My friend lives in Pickering and told me about The Pearl.

Apparently, they are holding a grand opening promotion on Monday, August 3rd. They are going to give free 1/2 hour massages as a luxury escape.

Free!! That sounds so cool, but apparently it's first come, first served. I don't know if I want to take a chance by driving out to Pickering and end up having to wait in line.

I checked out the Pearl's website which is pretty nice - www.thepearlspa.ca. Some of their features sound really luxurious - like heated bamboo wood floors, a waterfall, etc. Their hourly rate is only $80, which is pretty reasonable compared to other spas in downtown.

Next time I'm out there, I'll probably make an appointment, and provide a review afterwards...

If anyone receives a free 1/2 hour massage on August 3rd, let us know how it was like! Thanks.

My friend went to the Pearl on holiday Monday, August 3rd for the free staycation.

She went at 10:00 am in the morning, and there was like 30 people already there lining up for a massage. So, she turned around and left. (That's what I expected, so I didn't bother going to Pickering...)

Anyway, she went back later in the day, but all of their available time slots were fully booked.

She met the owner, and apparently he was cool. He offered to give her a discount next time she came in.

She said it was really nice in there - like a boutique hotel. She couldn't see the whole place, because there were already clients getting a massage.

Who knows, maybe she'll take me for a luxury couples massage when she goes for her appointment - LOL!

I forgot the most important thing.

Even thought The Pearl is a spa, the only service it offers is registered massage therapy.

That means that I get to claim this under my benefits at work!!

That's amazing. I love the fact that you get to pamper yourself in luxury and get reimbursed through your benefits plan.

I will try and go to The Pearl at least once a month until the end of the year so I can use up all of my massage therapy benefits.

Best of all, come January, my massage therapy benefits will be replenished! I get around $1000 a year, which means that I can get a massage around once a month.

I was visiting a friend in Whitby, and decided to book an appointment at The Pearl in Pickering.

I love the whole set-up of The Pearl and its neighbouring shops. They are not in a strip plaza. Instead, they are part of a brand new luxury townhouse community. Nice.

I was expecting a big spa, but that's definitely not the case. The Pearl does not offer any spa services except massage therapy. No facials. No manicures. No pedicures. No body wraps. Just massage - albeit in a really nice setting.

I have nothing against going to a spa with women, but I do like the fact that as a man, I can go there without having to sit beside a woman in a robe or a mud mask.

The reception area is very modern, stylish and elegant. It's as my friend had described. It looks like a boutique hotel.

I met the owner of The Pearl. She's a very pretty lady who was also very personable. While I was filling out my form, I enjoyed my little conversation with her. Apparently, she designed The Pearl to make it feel like a private spa for the client.

She asked me a couple of questions to personalize my massage experience. For music, did I prefer light jazz, instrumental or nature? What is the lighting level I prefer. How light or soft do I want my pressure to be? Man - I was really impressed by how much effort they were putting forth to ensure my experience was personalized to my tastes.

When I walked in the treatment room, I was in love. It's not opulent or grand. However, it has a simple beauty, elegance, and warmth to it. The room has a nice inviting sitting area that just beckons you to have a seat and forget all of your troubles.

The floors were of dark bamboo wood and were heated underneath. It felt real nice on my bare feet.

I also liked the headrest on the bed. It was so soft and cushy. I almost fell asleep as soon as I put my head down.

With respect to my massage - my therapist was amazing! She definitely had healing hands. She instinctively knew how to knead my muscles and which areas required more attention.

The combination of the room, the music, the atmosphere and the massage itself was absolutely relaxing. It made me fall asleep. I know some people don't like to fall asleep during a massage, because they feel like they're missing out. Not me! I love when I fall asleep, because that means that I am totally relaxed and at ease.

When I turned over to lie on my back, I kind of gasped in surprise. The ceiling was designed to look like stars in a night sky. It was so unexpected, but really, really cool. I've never seen anything like it before at a spa.

This was easily the best massage experience I ever had. I liked the setting, the atmosphere, the massage and the price. They're 1-hour massage is only $80. That's a hell of a lot cheaper than the crappy massage I got at Elmwood Spa.

I just loved the attention to detail they put into the little things at this spa. All of these little things added up to a truly memorable experience.

However, there is one thing I don't like.

I definitely don't like that I have to go all the way to Pickering to visit The Pearl. I hope they open up a location downtown sometime in the future. Until then, I won't mind driving out east at least once a month.
