I booked for a haircut and hair color and it turned out to be a disaster! I dont recommend anyone going to their salon ever. I got my hair colored and top of my head is orange and the rest are dark brown. What really made mad is that she keep sayin' it is a beautiful color ignoring the fact that she made a huge mistake, atleast be honest. Bought a hair color from Sally's on my way home and dyed my own hair. And oh! My haircut, is no good as well. She spent a lot of time trimming/cutting my hair but didnt see much difference. They have booked me for another appointment and i remember telling the lady how to cut by giving an example myself trimming my own hair! I asked her to stop whatever she's doing and i walked away. I am never going back to this salon!

I went for an appointment on a Monday evening, as the web site states they are open to 9pm. Monday evenings are the only nights I have free as a single mother so I was thrilled at the option of finding a hair salon open.

The stylist did a good job on my hair (even if she was complaining slightly about being the only one on that late and the hours that she was required to work at the salon in order to get better time slots and she told me about the working conditions but despite that) I happily booked my next appointment at reception when I was leaving.

The next appointment was to be in 6 weeks, however 4 weeks later I realized I had something booked, so I called reception and moved the appointment to a week later and everything was confirmed over the phone.

Then the afternoon of my appointment, I telephoned to confirm the time I was supposed to arrive at my Monday night hair appointment, and I was told they had no staff as they had sent them to a seminar or some excuse.

I asked why they had not bothered to contact me to inform me that the appointment had been cancelled by them and I was told they did call my cell, but couldn't connect.

I questioned this excuse as I have never had any issue with my cell phone - it is my only phone and very reliable. I said I was highly disappointed and asked if I could book for next Monday night then, and at that point I was told that the hair salon was no longer open on Monday evenings.

The receptionist asked if I could come on another day, and I informed her I could not and that I would be finding another salon.

Later the salon emailed me with my current "points" so I also informed them to stop contacting me as I will never be a client again.

The attitude of the woman on the phone was utterly disrespectful and she truly didn't care that I had been inconvenienced completely by their lack of communication.

They had my cell phone number, and my email - there was absolutely no excuse for cancelling my appointment without telling me in advance.

The salon is not worth a visit, trust me. Ridiculously overpriced for so-so stylists. In a town full of salons you would think they'd either have higher standards or fairer prices, but not so. To be blunt, the salon is a ripoff.
Now on to the spa side... Lovely. It may lack ambience and space (very cramped waiting area and changing/shower room) but I have always been happy with the services. Massage services are wonderful as well as facials and waxing services. I have never had a mani or pedi here as I am not interested in sitting within a noisy hair salon while trying to relax. Big mistake thinking that putting pedi stations inside the salon was a good idea. Terrible.

I received Aru's Signature Facial for the first time last week. I wanted to share how great this service is. My Esthetician was kind, gentle, friendly and clearly knowledgeable about her profession. Overall the spa was clean and very nice in design and comfort. The actual facial was absolutely lovely. It was relaxing, as it was full of massage and definitely targeted my skinmy face has not looked as good as it did following my facial in along time! I will absolutely be back here.

I love this place sooo much I decided to ask my wife to marry me in the Japanese bathtub. Aru is very unique, great couples room, complimentary aromatherapy steam rooms and amazing staff! The kind of place you would expect in London or New York... but in White Rock! who would have thought!

I am one of those ladies who frequent spa's and having been to over my fair share of spa and salons I have to say I LOVE Aru! It's one of those places you can go and always count on quality. They have the best team of estheticans and stylists I have ever come across. What makes this place special is the staff, from the front desk girls, stylists, body workers to valet attendants all of them thoughtful and genuine people. One of my favorite services to get is a full body exfoliation followed by a 90 min relaxation massage. If a seasoned spa goer like me says it's good. It's darn good. Come try it!

We recently had the pleasure of going to Aru for Mother's Day and absolutely loved the place and the services we received. I have a group of 4 other women that get together every Mother's Day and go to the spa to get massages or our nails done, it's our little treat to ourselves. It was the first time that any of us have been to Aru as we usually try new places.

We each treated ourselves to manis & pedis this year and had such a great time. We were able to sit together during our services and catch up, they also brought us a glass of wine (nice touch! ;) ). We had such a great time with the girls doing our services, they were so friendly, professional and funny. I can't say enough about our experience with Aru except that we absolutely loved or time there and all of my friends agreed to make this our annual Mother's Day treat.

I received a Japanese Bath, massage and facial for my birthday. I was completely pampered by their wonderful staff, from beginning to end this was a fabulous experience. Highly recommended!
