Painting Plus

Thank you for all the hard work that was done at our home & believe it was a mess. The work that was done was great & we really appreciate Ian's professional approach to what was needed.

I recently had some painting done in my home by Mr. Kennedy & was really happy with his work. Extremely tidy & always at the end of the work day left everything to one side so it wasn't in our way. We received so many complements on how nice our home looked.

Some time ago, this gentleman came highly recommended by the Benjamin Moore store in Stouffville, Ontario. We were quite surprised to learn that unfortunately, his work was below average. We were not impressed by this job and opted to have most of it redone or touched up. There were several nail protrusions which were left unfixed and simply painted over.

We are a little surprised by all the glowing testimonials as that certainly was not our experience.

Mr. Ian Kennedy was charming and amiable when he arrived at my home to present me with a quote. He seemed a great choice. He then expected a $200 downpayment one month prior. When he came to the house he did nothing but complain about the paint, and the fact that the trim was going to take more than one coat. He was aware that trim was to be painted when he provided the quote, but decided it was taking up too much of his time. He did not like the fact that the trim paint was blue. He did not use tape and his trim work was incomplete and shoddy, bleeding onto the walls. He spent one whole day painting trim and it is still half incomplete. It should have taken him no more than a few hours.

He did not use tape for any part. He did not prep the walls as promised, ie. fix nail pops. When it was pointed out to him, he rudely told me to leave. He was incredibly rude to myself and my five year old child, despite the fact every hospitality was extended to him. He offered to cover the cost of paint for one room, but he bought extremely low grade, unacceptable, industrial paint, despite the fact that it was agreed upon that a Ben Moore higher grade paint be used. It appeared he attempted to conceal this purchase. This paint is useless and cannot be used.

All in all, his work was shoddy, confirmed by another professional painter, he and his wife's manner conceited, rude and overbearing, and his business practices lack integrity and professionalism. He did nothing but rudely complain the whole time. He left half full coffee cups and garbage behind.

This was a terrible experience, and I was forced to cut my losses and hire a respectful, competent painter. Clients beware!

We recently had Ian paint our hall, landing and bedroom and we were extremely pleased with his work. He is cheerful and friendly and an excellent worker. If you need a painter - Ian is the man!

We recently hired Ian Kennedy of PaintinPlus to do a difficult remodeling of our outdated basement. He had to remove old wallpaper that had been stuck on the walls with a thick glue.
He managed to do this and then had to make the walls perfectly smooth again before painting. Next he did a wonderful Job of replacing all of the baseboards.
The work was so good that we hired him again to paint the and repair the wood on our Tudor style house

Ian was a pleasure to work with. He did a fabulous job painting our bedroom, hallway, stairs and landing. He also painted a few ceilings. He is very precise and does an excellent job. We will certainly use him again and recomend him to our friends. We are glad we found Ian!

We recently did extensive kitchen and family renovations. Ian Kennedy of Paintin Plus painted these two rooms as well as our living and dining rooms. Ian did a great job. He is meticulous about his work and always tidy. He was easy to work with. He was flexible about his starting date and began the work when he said and completed it on time. I think his prices were very reasonable for the high quality of his work.

We had Ian in to do a complete makeover in our kitchen & dining room. Not only did he do a professional job, but his work habits were neat, clean and very timely.

No hesitation in recommending him.
