Be very very sure that there will be no changes to your summer schedule. I gave 1.5 months advance warning that my daughter could no longer attend due to a competition out of province. They did not care. Kept my $105 non refundable or transferable. Very rigid. EVERY camp we have ever enrolled in has had a cancellation policy. We will go to keno hills from now on. Would give zero if I could.

I had my horse at Cadence Creek for rehab from July 2 to Sept 28, 2015 under the care of Shantel Parreal (Equine Chiropractor/Osteopath) and Caitlin Scott (Equine Masseuse). He was a show horse and had strained his stifles. In the three months he was there he lost about 150 pounds. I attended him twice a week throughout that time and when I questioned both Shantel and Caitlin about his declining condition they both said he was fine. I removed him from CC when I showed up and he was lame (abscess in his LF hoof) and up to his hocks in mud. He arrived by their account 'slightly overweight' and left lame and extremely emaciated. This happened under their rehab program so I'm not sure what could happen to a horse who is just being boarded there. When Mick was in trouble Caitlin and Shantel refused to communicate. This has been mentioned as a problem in other reviews. This experience was very traumatizing for me and my horse. I do not recommend this facility.

Please note that the address in this listing is not current. The facility moved almost 5 years ago. Current location is just south of twp rd 522 on rr 225.

I had to laugh whole heartedly at those 3 bad reviews! If you could even call them bad. Never have I felt that the things that were described as unacceptable -been so affirming of a wonderful place for a child to learn and grow. I hate to break it to city folks but on a farm with horses -there will be horse droppings. It would be silly to assume each horse be followed around by some person responsible for picking up their droppings every time they choose to defecate! I can't even describe how much I laughed reading that particular sentiment!

My second favorite is the dismay a parent had that their daughter had to clean a dirty horse before she could ride it! Oh how it would be nice to think that each of my horses leave their field in as pristine condition as when they were put there. But should I want to ride my mud and poop covered horse -I must first clean it (a lesson this facility obviously agrees with me on).
Finally my absolute favorite comment that the children must eat their lunch sitting down in the grass.. I can not personally think of a better way to eat my lunch and while working my office job have reminisced of the many lunches I ate at the barn on the ground in the sun , air scented with fresh hay, horse, and surrounded by the best kind of people -horse people. I truly believe the people who wrote those reviews had an absolute different and trashing mentality when they wrote them however as I read them over -each more hilarious than the last I believe for true horse people they solidified the complete practicality and charm of a truly tremendous riding facility that I would be proud to say that my children were a part of!

Good day!

Moved here from out of province, and have had a hard time finding a barn I felt comfortable in...me and my mare have been so happy here, I've made new friends with a group of lovely women and I'm so glad we discovered it!

The place sounds just as disgusting as when I sent my daughter to this camp a few years ago, before they moved. Yup, there used to be an overnight stay and a bbq event where parents are asked to supply the food! They have a tub of dirty water to wash their hands in for the whole day, between all the campers - after riding, after the bathroom, before eating ... it is totally gross! Big dumps of horse poop everywhere - and it is where they want the children to play. Also, I noticed they keep trying to disguise babysitting services as some fun event - it's all about the money.

Facility is in disrepair, school horses are underfed and some in distress. Not suitable for novice or higher levels as the entire week did not exceed the trot. No canter or hunter jumper in the one lesson per day (advertised two) and no theory sessions or vet/farrier visit. UNACCEPTABLE FACILITY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY. Portapotty, live animals, manure, handsanitizer and serving food! The perfect storm for E. Coli. Up to 20 kids unsupervised most of the day, and housed in a converted garage without water or sewage. Bottled water supplied but not replenished when consumed, in 25+ degree weather!

Day Summer Camp in July 2011 (girls aged 5 - 12)
Management at this Equine facility does not allow parents to stay at the camp and now I know why...
1. kids had to use this disgusting port-a-potty outside the barn which was FULL
2. only place for kids to wash their hands was in the bathroom in the barn where the plugged up toilet was but there was no soap or anything to dry their hands after they were required to muck out the stalls every day.
3. kids had to sit on the barn floor or on the dirt road in front of the barn to eat their own packed lunches (snacks and drinks were not provided as advertised)
4. When we signed up for the camp it was advertised on their website "Prticipate in a daily one hour riding lesson". After I pointed out to the owner that my daughter has only ridden 15 min on the first day, 20 minutes on the second day and 30 minutes on the third day, I noticed they changed the verbage on their website. How unprofessional to be changing the camp details on the website like that. Is that legal? People sign up for what they saw and get something different than what they paid for.
5. My daughter spent more time grooming a mud covered horse than on the horse riding.
6. We were told that my daughter was not too small to ride. She's 6 yrs old but only 38" tall and 33 lbs. The owner (Caitlin) said they put small children like my daughter on ponies and she'll give her a pony to ride. First 2 days, my daughter had to ride an Arab (around 15 hands), 3rd day she did get to ride a nice pony as the buddy she was paired up with (12 yr old) was sick that day. 4th day, they brought in a huge Thoroughbred about 16 - 17 hands!! It was whinning like crazy when brought in the barn to get saddled up. My daughter was scared to ride this horse.
7. games and activities were like, playing in the indoor arena, crawling and rolling in the dirty dirt which reeked of ammonia and horse poop. Throwing horse shoes on the grass in some circles which bored the girls to death. They don't even have a horse shoe pit with real sand! Highlight for the kids were the wild frogs around the barn which they'd catch and play with.
8. oh yeah, last but by far not least, they had 14 yr olds watching over the kids handle the horses (grooming and tack), I witnessed a 12 yr old get her foot stepped on and none of the staff was around to help push that horse off her foot so I did.
