Vanity Fur Pet Spa & Boutique

A few months ago I was called by Vanity Fur in Lorne Park because I hadn't been back in a while. I explained that I was hesitant because the first time my dog became very ill the day after his first grooming there. They quoted me $60 and a 15% discount to try them again. When I got there, they tried to sell me additional services, unlike the first time. When i went to pick up my dog, I was the last customer and they told me that the cash register wasn't working so the manager would look after me. The groomers watched from behind the glass as the manager came out to talk to me. The price was almost $80 and when I told her the price i was quoted she said that they shouldn't have told me that because it depends on the weight of the dog (cockapoos aren't that big) and that he's on the bigger side (he's 24 lbs) so she has to charge for a large dog. She complained that the previous owner "only" raised prices 5% and that's not enough. No doggie scarf to make them look extra cute when they leave so I guess she cut that out too. So I left feeling like they tried to get extra money out of me for upgrades but couldnt so she found another way to get my money. Very disappointed in the way it was all handled. It makes me wonder if she's using cheap products, too, to make more money. Needless to say, but I won't be returning here. I look for business owners that go out of their way to make customers happy and don't make the customers pay for their own errors. The one star is for the groomer who did a pretty decent job.

We have used Vanity Fur (formerly Pettipaws) since we adopted Missy (a Brittany Spaniel pure bred Mutt) over 9 years ago and she comes out of there beautiful every time with not a sign of any razor burns or woopsies at all. Because she is such a healthy dog, she grows hair like a weed so grooming is at least 6 times a year.

Their service is second to none and Missy is always ready at the requested time or earlier and not the least bit stressed out (actually doesn't even shake when we pull up outside their front door, which is not Missy).

We have also boarded her every year for 4 years for 2 weeks at a time and she comes home a happy but tired pooch as she's not shoved in a kennel but romps with the boarder and her dogs and plays with all the other dogs at the spa while she is working (boarders are employees or the owner herself).

If there was 10 stars to rate this company that's what they would get from me.
