If there was a negative rating this guy would have it. He used the e collar on my dog. When I brought my dog home I didn’t use it as I wasn’t shown how to use it properly by this guy and nor was my dog trained with the understanding Jeff and I had regarding my issues with my dog. Fast forward to 2 days ago. I’ve now got my dog with a police dog trainer and he used the e collar on level FIVE and my dog got so freaked out and scared of it. Now level 5 is so low you can barely feel it. But my boy is so traumatized by this idiots past use of it, that just the sound that level 5 makes, makes him so scared by previous use. Jeff scared my dog so bad. Now. I have another dog. This dog is also trained by the new trainer and not Sit Happens. And guess what? Zero issues in any way whatsoever. So what does that tell you? The current trainer has spent 4 training sessions gaining my dogs trust and rehabilitating my dog. Jeff should not be trusted to train any dog. And I might add that when I had raised my voice at my dog to say “no” he cowered. My other dog does not. I never understood why my boy was so scared... I haven’t raised my voice on him since. Jeff is the worst trainer ever. Do not send your dog to this guy.
Jeff, The owner of Sit Happens, and his other trainers are amazing! Both our dogs improved within a short time! Their unwanted behaviors changed to positive behaviors right before our eyes!
Jeff's personal, individualized, professional approach is the reason Sit Happens!
We are so grateful! Would recommend this to all dog owners!!

Love this program! I'm a repeat customer. I met Jeff about 10 years ago when I had my first golden retriever, who was about 3 years old at the time, and due to changed family circumstances and my lack to time to train, my dog was running me ragged. I SO wished I had called Jeff sooner! The e-collar was the only thing my dog responded to. The positive change in my dog was phenomenal! We were both happier since we found a way to communicate - I was happy that the dog was behaving and Charlie was happier since he wasn't always "in trouble" :)
I became a repeat customer this spring with my new retriever puppy, "Ella". I started with Jeff when Ella was 8 weeks and she took to it instantly. Ella is now 4 months and wherever I go, people comment on what a well behaved, happy dog she is. Her recall is amazing! I highly recommend this program, and Jeff. Like with any training, you still need to put the work in, but this program is simple to follow and well worth the results! My dogs will always be Sit Happens dogs!

I have had nothing but amazing success with Sit Happens. I have trained 2 dogs using this system and wouldn't do it any other way! I have one dog with aggression issues and the ecollar has minimized her aggression, which is amazing! My other one was just a puppy when she started and now because of Sit Happens, she is an amazingly social and well behaved dog!!
I absolutely love the ecollar, however, like any training tool, it is the instruction and application which makes it a success. Sit Happens ensures that every client is successful with their training and the lifetime training is AMAZING! I can go every week for a refresher or if things are going smoothly, can only go monthly. It is my choice and I really love the training for the life of my dog aspect!!!

We contacted Sit Happens and requested a consultation which we did not get. When the owner arrived, he was very arrogant, barely asked us any questions about our dog and barely interacted with our dog. He did his demonstration with his own dog and looked at us and said you have a problem dog, you should invest in my $1000 program. He was very arrogant about the whole thing acting like he was god's gift to dogs and I didn't feel I had received a "consultation" as much as a demonstration and a sales pitch. I also had so many questions about the e collars. I'm not against them, I just don't know much about them. When I started asking questions about how they work, he told me I had to pay for the training to find out. Excuse me? You want me to drop $1000 on something and yet I can't have my questions answered first. After he left, my boyfriend and I discussed the decision. I have no doubt that many people have had success using this company but when it came right down to it we agreed, we just didn't like the guy. I didn't trust him. And I didn't like his blanket approach to dog training. Each dog is different. Maybe they need an e collar, maybe they don't. Maybe they need 6 weeks of intense training, maybe they don't. He just didn't seem interested in trying to understand our dog before pushing a solution on us.
Without Sit Happens we would have given up on our Great Dane a long time ago. Rescuing him at 10months old we quickly discovered he had very little confidence and even less obedience. 130 lbs of "adorable puppy" can quickly turn into a nightmare if you don't have control. Jeff, Marilyn and Jorgen have been wonderful in helping us gain the upper hand. People who used to be afraid around our out of control beast now offer to dogs sit for us. They are amazed that he will stay in "place" until he is INVITED to come and say hello and gone are the days of calling and calling and pretending that I have any control off leash when clearly there was none.
The lessons learned in class have been awesome but even better is the communication from Jeff whenever I am experiencing a problem. Even though I would send an email describing the issue he always returned my question with a phone call and talked me through it. Being able to talk it out and question different scenarios has been wonderful. I really enjoy seeing the confidence build not just in myself but in my dog. He is much happier having a leader and knows exactly what is expected of him.
I look forward to each class knowing that I will go home with progress made each and every time. I can't wait to see just how far we can go.
Thank you Sit Happens!

There are many better and more positive ways to train your dog than using a shock collar which is what sit Happens uses to train.
This may be the 'fast' way to do it, but I would prefer keep a strong bond with my dog and find a trainer that uses reward based training tactics.
Not for me and I would recommend others do their research on shock collars before using one.

I used the email link to inquire about agility training for my dog. They emailed me back after a few days and arranged to set up an appointment for a free in home consultation. I only wanted to find a class to put my dog in for agility,(she does have dog aggression - which I mentioned, and was willing to pay for private lessons while she was in her rehabilitation).
He set up a date with me a couple weeks away. The day of the consultation was to happen, he called me and said he was just reading over my email and realized that I only wanted agility training and they are not offering that right now. WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME. So either, I wasn't going to indulge in every aspect of their training $$$ or he didn't take the time to read my email in the first place. I prepared my home, cleaned and told all family members to be present for this appointment. As well as made sure not to make any plans.
I could have been looking for another place if he had just told me that initially. Perhaps I could suggest removing it from your website - false advertising. Back to square one, I hate my time being wasted.... How rude!

Jeff from SIt Happens is amazing with dogs! I have worked professionally with Jeff and now his team of trainers. I breed and rescue dogs..... and he is the place I suggest the new families go to learn how to train their dog. They are the best. Period. I have trained hundreds of dogs in a working capacity and know what it takes to train a variety of different breeds and drives. The only authentic complaint I have heard was, "It feels like cheating.... its too easy doing it Jeff's way...." That is because it is simply clear communication for the dog.... and after training as many dogs as I have.... I assure you a dog wants clear communication and clear expectations. Jeff teaches you what you need to communicate with your dog.
The only regret I have is not learning about Sit Happens Dog Training sooner. I read all the books, did all the training and still didn't have a well trained dog. I was able to teach my dogs a variety of tricks if she was interested in learning them but when it came to listening to me she was the one who ultimately decided.
The information I learned and training that I received from Sit Happens was incredible and Mila learned very quickly. I can take Mila with me everywhere and be around all kinds of distractions without having to worry about what might happen. Mila and I are forever grateful, thank you Sit Happens!

It's one of the best decisions I've made, training my current dog through Sit Happens. I have such a well behaved dog people are always commenting at how good he is when we're out and about. I have no hesitations taking him into busy places and parks; he knows what I need and expect him to do. It is very satisfying when my dog is the only one that comes when called and everyone else is left chasing their dog or trying to fake them out by walking away "see you Fido" in the hopes that their dog will come running after them. As a result of the incredible training I have a dog that is full time off leash and has so much freedom, it amazes me to this day how effective the Sit Happens program is. From the moment the trainer came to our house for the demo I knew this was for us, we felt no pressure at any time to sign up & did so with both eyes open & aware of the elements involved. We had our first private lesson at home within a week & we have not looked back since. My dog is still the same goofy bouncy boxer he was when we started at 12 weeks of age with once added bonus - he listens!
My only regret after signing up with Sit Happens is not having done this with our first dog. That was a dog I did treat training with and spent almost 10 years with little to no confidence in his obedience or my ability to recall him. Had I found & trained through Sit Happens back then, that dog would have had such a different life, the freedom he could have experienced. That part makes me sad because I think of all the times we walked away from parks because there were too many distractions & it didn't need to be that way.
Thanks to Sit Happens I am a much smarter owner & handler.
When I first started training with them I often wondered is it possible to be so attached & bonded with this young pup simply because he listens to me? YES! It is such an incredible feeling having total confidence in what you're doing & getting the expected response from your dog.
I highly recommend Sit Happens to everyone & anyone that is considering training for their dog(s).

We used Sit Happens for both our dogs - one is a total livewire crazy Aussie and the other a quiet sweet collie cross from rescue. Our Aussie loved swopping sides every few seconds when out walking and she could also pull like a train. She also was over enthusiastic when greeting guests at the door. We had tried other training groups but we had very little success. We called Jeff and he came to our home for a free consultation. After just one lesson she was walking beautifully to heel.
Our little rescue came to us very timid and fearful and the training gave her so much confidence. She had a little anxiety, puddled a lot out of fear and was terrified of men. Now she is so happy and confident, idolises my husband and is slowing greeting more and more men. And no more anxiety.
We run with them regularly on the dykes and they are always offleash then. They heel until we tell them to "go play". When we see cyclists coming along we just call out to them to sit and they do so cyclists can pass without a dog running in front of them. We are always complimented on our happy and well trained girls. In training none of their character was lost - they just gained confidence. Training with them also enhanced the bonding process, especially with our little rescue. If you want a happy and well trained dog - then Sit Happens is the way to go. If our dogs were not happy with the training they wouldn't be the lovebugs they are and their tails wouldn't be wagging like they do.

When I got my young pup I was determined to get the best training for both of us. After much research and a number of personal recommendations I decided to use Sit Happens. It was the best decision I made and have never looked back. The training focused as much on training me as well as my pup so we could work together as one. The bond and trust we developed is unbelievable.
We looked forward to our training sessions with Jeff and his team and the park sessions were and still are a great way to socialize both of us. My vet was so impressed by the training, he signed up with his own dog and refers many dog owners to them.
Sit Happens is a great company with good people and is very active in helping rescue groups both in training and fund raising.
I would not hesitate in recommending them for a great training experience.

I have always had a dog in our family for over 30 years and about 8 years ago got yet another boxer pup. I decided to try Sit Happens for training my pup, first for the puppy training and then moving on to further training. The resuls were amazing, my dog has been off leash for most of her life and is free to run and be a dog and is not always at the end of the leash. We even did agility classes some 5 years ago and she was geat. She comes on command no matter what. We have always taken another older dog on and off over the past 7 years and she has always been great with them. We recently adoped an 8 month old almost feral boxer pup which she welcomed as her "baby" and with the same type of training and socialization she has progressed amazingly well and we know it will just improve. Without any type type of socialization and training this little dog would just be a statistic. She is now happy, well adjusted and part of our family and very happy to be here.
Sit Happens is a great dog training company and they have met the stringent criteria for the accrediations they have received. Jeff and his team are the best. The cost is very little when you consider the life of the dog and is the best money we ever spent on dog training.
I would highly recommend Sit Happens to anyone considering training. .

Has anyone had dog training with "Sit Happens". The website looks really good, as do the video clips and testimonials. I have a consultation with them this week.
I was very reluctant and skeptical about joining the Sit Happens Dog training program but after only a few shorts months it is nothing more than a miracle. I have a purebred Doberman and we adopted her at the age of 1. She knew very little commands and walking her was awful. She wasn't leash trained and she litteraly walked/dragged me down the street. If she saw other dogs it was even worse. I would walk her at night to avoid running into other dogs. I was extremly frustrated and at the point of almost rehoming her because she caused me so much stress. I had every collar on the market, every dog training book, and I had gone through 3 dog trainers. None of which helped! I found Jeff on the internet and gave him a call. He came over with his Doberman Cash and I couldn't believe what I saw and the potential for our dog. We signed up and saw results immedietly. The trust and the relationship my dog and I have built is amazing. I can walk her now and she stays at my side. My leash is always loose! Now when sees other dogs she ignores them! I have a new dog and I couldn't have done it without Sit Happens!! I highy recommend them! A huge Thank-you to Jeff and his amazing team!!!

We have always had dogs in our family. But what we never had was a WELL TRAINED dog. So, when we got our new puppy I was determined that this time we were going to have a well trained, off leash dog ...like the SUPERDOGS! Both my breeder and my vet highly recommended calling Jeff at Sit Happens. The demonstration he did with his dog left me speechless. I couldn't wait to start training my own little Superdog. At our 5th group class, we unsnapped the leash and we've never looked back. He is happy, confident, very social with people and dogs AND he has a bond/trust with me that I have never had with any other dog. I have the SUPERDOG that I wanted!! Don't be scared by someone with possibly a hidden agenda about remote collars. Call Sit Happens like I did ...and see for yourself.
Finally, dog training that works! I had tried all kinds of training with my dog and nothing worked. I was to at the point of giving her up until (thankfully) a co-worker recommended Sit Happens Dog Training. The Sit Happens team is amazing, I had immediate results and although I can't change my dog's dispostion, I am able to manage her. My family and friend's can't believe that this is the same dog they knew years ago. I would highly recommend Sit Happens Dog Training, not only have they helped me train with consistent results they have help me to increase Peaches quality of life too.
We are an active family with 3 young children and 3 large dogs. Our dogs range from fearful and dog aggressive to happy go lucky, everyones best friend. We found that with such a hectic lifestyle the dogs were getting left behind as trying to keep 3 kids in line was hard enough but 3 dogs that would go in any direction was more then we could handle.
We called Sit Happens after our vet recommended them. We were thrilled that they came right to our home and worked around our schedule. They do use the collar as the disgruntled client mentioned but not a shock collar but a remote collar. It's an attention getter and used to teach our dogs their commands and behaviour not punish or correct them. Our dogs vibrate when they see their collars as it means we are heading out.
In the beginning they did wear their collars all the time but that was only for a short while. Now we only put them on when we go hiking etc and they are off leash. Doesn't mean we will use them but we have them just incase.
We enjoyed our one on one time with our personal trainer and then once we had completed those we headed to the park where we worked in a real life situation with all 3 of Sit Happens Team.
They have always been helpful and either during our private appointments, class time or when we have called with a question they have always been quick to respond with advice or something to try etc.
I have recommended Sit Happens to all of my friends and recommend them to anyone else! They are a great company who really do listen and work with your family.

We live in Maple Ridge and adopted a Terrier mix not knowing anything about dogs and even less about Terriers, we had our hands full.
After several attempts with different trainers we came to Sit Happens... and it did.
We are so happy with the results with our "still a work in progress doggie".
Having Chantelle ( one of the Sit Happens trainers ) living in Maple Ridge makes our experience even better.

We were so frustrated by the antics of our puppy that no one in the family was enjoying him. We decided we needed to do something as we got a dog to enjoy and we were not enjoying him at all! In only 1 session we were seeing great results and now we are thrilled to have a dog and to take him anywhere with us. We would recommend not looking elsewhere, just start with Sit Happens, it's the best!
We have had a wonderful experience with Sit Happens. Would recommend it to anyone who owns a dog, big and small.
