I contacted Arbor Investigations and spoke in length to "Jules"...... she answered all my questions and all seemed professional. I mailed an information package to the office, along with all their forms........my credit card was charged for $1050. as agreed. That's the last I heard from them.........no updates, nothing. I continually called and e-mailed, leaving messages, over and over. After awhile, I contacted my credit card company to see what could be done as I did not get the service I had paid for. They started a case against them but because I was out of the country and missed a deadline to respond, the case was dismissed. Arbor told the credit card company that they had done background checks, etc. If they had, they would have responded to my many inquiries and at least returned one of my calls or e-mails. Do not deal with this company.....once they take your money, they will not correspond with you at all. Total rip off.............I may as well flushed the money down the toilet............if there was an option for "0" stars I would have chosen it........

If I had read these reviews I might not have hired them. I did hire them and they did fairly extensive corporate investigation for a large company I am involved with. They were result oriented and were able to get to the bottom of our fairly serious problems. They were referred to us by our legal firm and our understanding was they had done work for several of their clients.

I am not one to wite reviews but after reading the comments here I find it very difficult to believe the experiences being described.

I first dealt with this company in 2011. I had hired other companies and did not get results. They came through for me and were able to get more information than I asked for.
I hired them again in 2015 for a completely separate investigation. Again they were able to get me the information. They are a great company!

I hired this company as I knew and thought one of the investigators was a friend of mine. I payed the retainer of $1050.00 by credit card. I was told the investigation would begin at the agrees time and location. One week after I called, sent messages(text) and left voice messages. No one ever contacted me in return. I would call again to give further Intel on the to get I wished to be surveyed. I would be told they would speak with the investigator and get to me. No one got back to me. I left messages with my friend and he told me he would speak to the investigator and find out. Once again Noone got back to me. After a month of waiting and not getting anything back my friend gave me the direct contact number of the investigator. I spoke to him and recorded the conversation in which he openly told me that he had gone to the location only once and did not start the investigation on the date I was guaranteed he would by his company. I told him to cancel the investigation and refund met the ratainer as they had not done anything and had waisted my time as I needed the information for court purposes. He then proposed to investigate further for probono to ensure results. I told him No and to tell my friend to refund the money. I spoke to my friend who told me he had notified the office to refund my money. One week went by with no refund. I spoke to the office who told me they had not heard from my friend regarding the refund. I then called him numerous times and sent text messages to which he replied he did not know why the refund never happened and that he would speak to the office immediately. 2 more weeks went by and I heard nothing at all from anyone. I called the office and was told the woman in charge of refunds only works 2 days a week and would be in on Tuesday. I spent more weeks calling and leaving messages at the office and to my friend with no response. I then notified my friend that I would be taking Arbour to court and seeking damages. On a recorded phone conversation my friend told me that him and the investigators work for the company as the owners main office is located elsewhere and they operate as free agents. I went to court and pulled his company's information to learn that he is the main owner with a secondary partner. It has been almost half a year dealing with this company as I was about to file in court before time for an application could have ran out. Luckily for me I documented everything and had filed a claim with my credit card Company one month after I was promised a refund by them. Today my credit card was recredited for the full amount.
I do not understand how the Better Business Beaureau has not shut this company down? The owner of Arbor is a part owner of The Burke beer house and Brew street Craft kitchen in Port Moody. I suggest if you hired this company to cancel their services on by phone and writing immediately and to document everything.

I should have checked reviews ahead of time, but I was desperate. They charged by visa for more than the agreed amount and never did any work. Visa will not reverse charges if it is beyond 45 days.

They have had 10 comlaints with the BBB.

I hired them for a basic job and ended up with an 'extra' 1600. on my credit card (on top of the 1,000 deposit). No communication! I was never informed that I had run through the first amount and never did get any info in the end except that they couldn't find the person...AND I was invoiced only after I put in a dispute with VISA. They had to send one to VISA for the dispute. First I'd seen it.

I had to check off 1 star...but they deserve none.

I was unable to locate my teenage daughter on my own. She is 14 years old and into the drug scene. With very little information they located her and set up a meeting. She was not even close to the area in BC where we thought she was. She is now in a program with the help of the investigators. Thank you.

This is a great company to deal with. It appears reading the reviews that the same person has posted twice. I hate to see someone so bitter..what a waste of time. I hired the company to locate a person. This is the third company I have dealt with. The first two cost me thousands and came up blank. Arbor did not push for my business and warned me about privacy laws and no gurantees. This was my last shot...they got me the information. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND the services of this company!!

Wanted to find a phone or email Mike said it would be $300.00 or less and would take a couple of days,if I wanted a full investgation it would start at $700.00. I decided to only do phone #. They charged a deposit of $1000.00. And I never heard from them. I called them they said call back in a couple days, did that they said same thing , so I did still nothing. They have NEVER contacted me. On Dec. 23.13, I called to cxl service and has for a confirming call back , I got nothing called again, again no response,I emailed several times nothing , finally I sent a fax got a return call and they would do a accounting of my account.Heard nothing I sent another email onJan. 23, 14 , Mike responded that he had been out of town all of jan. And his staff were swamped but he would get someone on it ASAP. Week goes by nothing . I send a email on Jan. 30 demanding a accounting by end of day Jan .31.14, within 4 hrs. I get a accounting that they claim used the entire$1000.00. They have several other clients they have done this to. If they are to busy to do the work they shouldn't accept new clients. I do not believe for a minute they even tried to find the phone # or gave to someone else to do and charged me threw the roof. Do not use this company , they are extremely unprofessionally , and have zero customer service. Once they have your credit card # you won't hear from them again.

I was very pleased with this companies service and knowledge. they provided reasonable rates and efficient service.
