So I saw a listing for GQ Spa on n49.ca. As a man, the name "GQ" appealed to me, so I thought I'd go there for a massage.
It's on Sudbury Street in the King West Village area. I don't know if it was the time of day, but parking was a bit of a hassle.
However, my irritation melted away when I stepped inside. This is a really cool looking spa. It's very clean and ultra-modern. It was perhaps a bit too modern - as the colour scheme and decor was a bit stark looking. Almost too cool - instead of warm and inviting.
The massage room was very nice and comfortable. The room I was in was fairly large. I didn't feel squished like some other places that jam you in a room the size of a closet.
The actual massage was pretty decent. I've had better massages elsewhere, but my therapist was very attentive to what I said, and fortunately, didn't feel the need to talk to me incessantly.
Price was - you're definitely paying more, because of the spa setting, but I don't mind shelling out a couple of more bucks for a more luxurious experience.
