White Toronto

I'm writing this review to let people know that White actually saved my life and my wedding! First of all this gorgeous store, the absolutely wonderful service and friendliest people, never mind the stunning dresses, what more can a person ask for?!?! I had the pleasure of working with Lauren, one of the top bridal consultants in my opinion, who couldn't of been a more delightful, respectful and experienced consultants who helped me through every step of the way through my bridal experience! May I add for all to know, I was the anti-bride,,, I had a destination wedding and was terrified about my dress and what to do about the entire situation! Well, for all of you out there who feel like me there is hope for us yet! I had truly an awesome experience and wouldn't have changed it for the world! I'd like to say that Lauren was a major part of that and I couldn't be more impressed, and would recommend her service and the store as one of my top moments in my life really making this event one of my greatest in my life. I'm truly thankful for my experience and think the world of this girl and the store! Thanks White and thanks Lauren :)! Since my wedding in December all of my friends have flocked to the store because they all know what I have to say and they saw how unbelievably happy I was and I just wanted to share that with all of you.Stay happy and thanks for reading!JJGK3

Going into White in Yorkville, you know that these will probably be dream dresses. Depending on your budget, that might equal "unattainable", but the experience can either be enjoyed or make the rest of your wedding dress shopping incredibly inadequate knowing that most of the other high-end bridal shops in Toronto simply don't have the same depth of selection.

I guess one of White's claims to fame is that they are the only Canadian store approved to carry Oscar de la Renta bridal. You can still find Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, Jenny Packham and Jenny Lee at other stores. I'm not sure about Anne Barge or Nicole Miller...

PROS: The store itself is a cute boutique, typical of Yorkville. The service was wonderful and they weren't upset when we went over our 1-hour consultation. She even came up with strategies for how to best convince a 'disagreeable' mother if *the* dress was found. Again, the selection here is one you wouldn't be able to find unless you went to Chicago.

CONS: It seems as though they don't pick up their phone and by default, make you leave a voice message. This can be annoying if you want to just find out their business hours (their website doesn't say). You cannot just walk into the store as well. The door bell has to be rung and I get the feeling that they don't particularly like walk-ins.

Overall, I would have expected them to be snotty, but from the 3 times that I've been to the store, no one has been like that at all. They don't even ask at the beginning of your consultation what your dress budget is (like some other places), which is practical, but could be a little off-putting depending on your situation. I would recommend at least checking it out and just having fun with trying on these dresses, because when else would you?
