Mr. John F. Choat,. Retired Professor
The Tile Shoppe in my humble opinion is one of the VERY best, if
not THE best, highly organized, well informed and buyer-concerned outlets I have ever visited.
From the cleanliness of the showroom, the well exhibited stock
and the very knowledgeable staff, right down to the delivery of the purchased items right to,AND into, your car, far exceeds any
other 'outlet' of its type.
The tremendous financial savings are only a part of the bonus.
Other businesses should take lessons from The Tile Shoppe!

TERRIBLE! Worst Customer Treatment Ever!
Just came back from the Tile Shoppe today at the Concord location. My gf and I just bought a new home so we were looking to buy tiles for the kitchen backsplash. Got there at about 8:30am and there were already a good amount of people. Not everything in the store was 50%, so we stuck to what was on sale. And after looking around we went with the wide rectangular mosaic tiles for $4.99 per/sq ft (5 sq ft per box).

I work in the industry as a contractor and installer (and now also a Real Estate Agent), so I made sure to ask about the refund policy, if it was possible to return any extra pieces, or if I ran into any broken or cracked pieces would I be able to return them? And the obvious answer here (because of the sale) is no.. and no... so basically I would have to check and make sure that I was satisfied with each piece of tile before I left. It's not surprising to see cracked or chipped pieces in tiles because it happens all the time, and usually when this happens the Store would normally exchange them for you without hassle. I've even returned tiles before because they weren't square! As an installer, this would affect my workmanship, and my clients would not be happy if the tiles weren't lined up. Do I blame the tiles or blame the workmanship? All the blame would go back on the installer if they had not checked properly and warned their client ahead of time before installation, that is their job!

Upon picking up the tiles in the back warehouse, I checked each and every single tile in each of the 9 boxes that we bought. The first 8 were just about perfect, but the last one had a cracked piece. So I went back to the service lady and she told the manager. The manager (short guy with a large round stomach) came and asked me whats wrong, and I told him that the tile was cracked. I showed him which one and how it was cracked and he said to me "if you hold it like that, of course the piece would break!" I told him that I already examined 8 boxes, and none of them had an issue except for the last one. So he went and got me another box. I examined the box he gave me and noticed another tile had a piece where the corner was completely broken off. It would have been alright if that piece with the broken corner was at the end, so it would end up being a cut piece, but it was right in the middle of the tile, and I couldn't accept this. I asked the manager to replace this piece or bring me another box and he looked at me and told me to go return everything and get a refund, he said "I don't want to sell to you, go and get a refund, give me everything back!" He left, and I spoke to the service lady and asked why I couldn't exchange the tile, all she did was shrug and pointed to the manager and said "Ask him?"

As a customer, I would not go into a store intending to buy damaged goods. And without a refund/exchange policy, you have to make sure and check, or it will be too late when you've already gone home. What I experienced today was just terrible. I hope nobody will ever get this type of treatment from any type of retail store. If I were an undercover shopper, I would immediately post bad reviews of this store! The manager does not know how to take care of their customers and will ultimately push them away.

Because of this, I don't ever intend to shop at this store, nor will I recommend any other friends and contractors to go to the Tile Shoppe! There are so many other options out there.

Great Products
Excellent up front service. Waited a bit too long for pick up at the back. Slow process.

The Tile Shoppe
Snehal was so helpful, courteous and knowledgeable! I found everything I was looking for and he made it very easy. When I need more tiles I'll call Snehal and I'll send my friends to him as well :)

Great selection and helpful staff.
I made my first visit to the Tile Shoppe in Concord this week. The selection was great, and I found the perfect tile for my kichen backsplash. The showroom staff were very pleasant and helpful, and Javid in the warehouse loaded everything into my car with a smile. I will shop here again.

Ms. Jackson
found marble tile, exactly what I was looking for, saw it elsewhere for $25 foot, high quality, fraction of the price, really happy! Thanks especially to the woman who works there, she really knew her stuff:)

Great Prices and Fanstastic Service
I have been shopping to tile shoppe since they open and I am blown away by their prices and service. Straight forward policy and no hidden agendas.

Good bunch of guys, good product, excellent price
I have bought from this place a number of times, and they sell good stone, good mesh, good mortar, etc, at a price that knocks the socks off of Home Depot and Rona.

They don't always have great selection, but, what do you expect at those prices. The stuff just flies off their shelves. You may have to go in once in a while to see what is selling, that's for sure!

The people there have always been good to me, but, I do know the difference between travertine and marble, so a bit of knowledge is a good thing when discussing your needs with them.

Viva The tile shoppe!

I dont seem to understand where people are coming from?

The polocy is strait forward and you are given the strait up choice to either buy from them, or not
Final sale, no refund, no exchange, no return

I was able to skim through my tiles before I left. but it gets real busy in the back and the warehouse guys have a tone of orders that need to be done, so sitting htere and sorting through tiles one by one is a huge hastle and potentially ruins your tile also by making it insicure since youve taken them out of its boxing where it is wrapped perfectly. Some people ignore the policy because of the price and just like to complaing afterward when the policy is already laid out htere for you. tough shit people, go buy from anywhere else on jane, theres alot of other tile shoppes to choose from you know, you are not forced to buy from them!

Pathetic Excuse
I had the worse experience of my life. I had purchased some back splash and after I paid for it and went to go pick it up it was the wrong one! This idiot Nancy said it was my fault, even though she entered the wrong item into the system.

I demanded to speak to a manager, and out comes this uneducated and unclassy women Sheila! Who clearly does not understand whats happening and all she can say was uh huh uh huh as if she is not listening.

I think this company needs to pick managment a little bit better, because you have this 2 foot nothing women with her sqeakey voice who clearly cant speak or understand english properly responding with uh huh uh huh which was driving me nuts.

In future spend the extra buck or 2 and get the service you all deserve!

I will never go back there again!!!!!

I wish to thank the people that actually take the time
to post reviews of the experience they've had with

I am glad that we did are homework as we are currently
breaking ground for our new home and some of our friends had recommended this establishment, when we
asked our builder about the Tile Shoppe, he told us
to see the negative reviews on the internet, and that his past experience with this place was NOT pleasant & has reputation for selling inferior quality materials, especially from Turkey and China.

Thanks again everyone for your insightful reviews, you have made our decision to stay away from this place.

I also had a ton of issues with these guys, it was my first and last experience with them...

Agreed, they definitely need to do something about management! It is just awful!

People are the lifeline of the business! Treat your customers with care and respect!

Extremely poor service. When we called to purchase more tile, from a lot we had picked our tiel a few months back, we were told there was no way they could help us no one was helpful in helping us figure out a solution. We ended up at a competitor who was far more helpful.

Awesome Store, Awesome Service
I purchased a skid of travertine for my hall way and bathroom. Price was incredible! Quanity is gorgeous. We could pick which skid of travertine we wanted and they delivered when promised. I have since been back to purchase tile for our kitchen backsplash and again am overwhelmed with the quality, price and service.
I would absolutely recommend them, and have recommended them to everyone I know doing renovations.
We dealt with the Mississauga store.

Great Prices for stone tiles
My experience at the tile shoppe has been great...not sure where all the negative reviews are coming word of advice, don't ask these folks for advice!!! LOL They can help you if you know what you're looking for. If you don't know what you're looking for, I suggest you browse around, note some prices and see what fits within your budget. I went to the Concord location (Jane/Langstaff). I bought porcelain tiles for my tub wall and bathroom floor. I also bought a very nice vanity from there for $400. All together, I paid around $900 for 1X2ft tiles for the tub and 18" tiles for the floor. I went back recently again and bought a few clearance items for my backsplash. They recently started selling thinset mortar which they did not have before for around $22/bag. Not bad considering I paid about $30 from RONA.

Buyer beware. The price may be right but there are strings attached. We ordered over 700 sq ft of tile and were told we could inspect the boxes before we take them as the tile shoppe does not allow returns for any reason.

They were not true to their word. We were forced to take broken tiles or forfeit the rest of our order... tiling had already begun. They claimed we broke the tiles during inspection (which we did not).

The treatment by staff is terrible. I don't honestly know how they are still in business.

I plan to make a complaint to the better business bureau following this email.

Very unsatisfied customer!
First issue: I had to drive an hour to Newmarket to pick up my bricks because they would not deliver them to the location that I purchased them at.

Second Issue: they gave me a product that was not what I had wanted. I had given them very specific specs regarding what I needed and they had promised that this particular product met those needs. Once I brought it home, it was not at all what I had asked for. When I complained they said that there was nothing that they could do about it and that there is NO refund OR EXHANGE. The general manager's attitude was not the quality that I would have expected from an established small business.

My recommendation: pay the extra dollar or so a square foot, go to Home Depot, Rona, Lowes, anywhere that stands behind their product.

Awesome buying experience
I have purchased here a few times and don't understand the bad reviews. They have unbelievable prices and are up front with their return policy. Their service is great and the store manager Al was a great help. Just check your tiles before you leave.

baffled by negative reviews too!
If you like a bargain, this is the place to shop. I saved $1,000. on bianca carrarra marble, and am very happy with the product. I have not opened all the boxes yet, but I do not anticipate a problem. Just inspect before the product is delivered and all will be fine!
I too was helped by Emillio, and would not hesitate to shop at this store again.
There is another sale this weekend and I plan to drop by.
All in all, a very positive experience.

I have left 5 messages with head office (after being directed there by the Mississauga store manager) in ten business days trying to get a response about why I could not get a refund for an item which went on sale for $200 cheaper the day after I bought it.

All my calls have been ignored. The store was rude and uncooperative when I called back and refused to connect me with the store manager again. When I contacted another branch to get advice as to how I can get some customer service I was told there was nothing to be done.

Anyone who values customer service should not to shop at any of these branches.

***Great PRICING for any Budget***
This is the ONLY place to shop for natural stone tiles, porcelain tiles and mosaics in the GTA. I am a certified
interior designer and along with the several builders that retain my services, we have been saving HUGE amounts of money
since this company has opened.Prior to shopping here, we would purchase our material from Ciot, StoneTile, Saltillo &
Marble Depot...and would NEVER shop at these places - EVER,again, when we can purchase the VERY SAME MATERIAL from the Tile Shoppe - at substantial SAVINGS ( like half the cost
of the other places above ).
I am sort of baffled with the negative reviews here concerning this location and it's staff - The products are NOT
inferior, the pricing is excellent and the staff members are great ( they actually know what they are talking about, when
you ask them a question) I usually deal with Amilio and he has saved me precious time on several projects and has NOT try to upsell me on anything - way to go, and keep bringing those great prices to us. Thanks.
