Renegades is "the other place" in our neighbourhood. Situated in a strip mall on Victoria Park Avenue and Surrey, it has ample parking all the time. It also has a friendly staff that do their job as best they can with the tools they have at hand.
This place kinda went downhill after the smoking ban. It seems to cater to the kind of clientele that smoke, so it's not unusual to see a dozen people outside the place smoking cigarettes. Of course, at 1:00am after a night of drinking, those dozen people can get quite loud, and quite rowdy.
Renegades has live music from time to time, mostly retro rock 'n' roll bands. It gets loud, inside and out. It's not uncommon to see police cruisers parked out front, wither doing business with the clientele or just keeping an eye on things while they fill out their daily paperwork.
I've been to this place a few times but tend to favour McFly's because it's more of my type of place - pub rather than rock bar. But every once in a while I'll wonder in for a cold one. For sure, this is not a family place. If you bring the kiddies they, and you, will feel out of place. Foul language and boisterous behaviour is common, and gets progressively worse as the day wears on.

Bug report: why is rowdy and loud, rough clientele in the cons field?
You'll see that rowdy and loud is also in the pros field. I happen to like rowdy and loud when I'm feelin' a bit, you know, rowdy and loud. It's in the cons field so that others who also happen to like rowdy and loud don't bring their preschoolers along thinking that would be ok, because I wouldn't recommend it.
:)
The rough clientele, well, while I like rowdy and loud I don't like it when ruffians start yip-yahooin' and makin' the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It seems to me that one can be rowdy and one can be loud without being a redneck looking for trouble.
Hope this [:cough:] clears that up. LOL.
