I was in this store the today and saw the sales associate approach a customer and tell her "I don't know why you are shopping in here, nothing will fit you". It was completely shocking but after reading the review on another site, it appears this is not out of the ordinary for this store. Overpriced with terrible customer service, definitely will not be returning.

Helg's line of clothing is stunning. If you live in the Roncesvalles area, no need to go to Bay and Bloor! Negative comments aside. ... When you go into her store, you are not in Winners. Her line of fashions include top European designers, using high quality fabrics eg: cashmere, alpaca, angora, etc. Her boutique has the ambience of that found in European cities and where "serious" customers benefit from Helga's superb sense of style. I am still wearing certain clothes purchased from her some years ago.

I really like this store. The clothes are expensive but pieces that you can keep in your wardrobe for years as the quality is excellent.

I popped into this store last weekend on the first beautiful spring day of the season in my bike dress and capris. There was a lovely scarf right inside the door without a price tag. I asked the sales person for the price. Her response was "it's quite pricey". I said, OK, could you please tell me what that price is. After she told me it was $180, I agreed that it was pricey for a scarf. She then proceeded to tell me that everything in her store is quite expensive, as they are European quality import items. I said, thanks for the information. I started looking around. She followed about 2 feet behind me and readjusted everything I touched. After about a minute she said: "We don't have anything in your size." I thought to myself, this is a total "Pretty Woman" moment. I asked her why. She said because that's what her clientele liked. I said it was quite sizeist. She didn't understand, so I explained it was prejudiced based on size. I wear size 12, in some designer lines I take a medium. I was incredulous of this whole incident, but it did happen just like I described it.

I too was drawn to the store by the attractive window. On my Saturday morning walk I went in. The salesperson asked if if i needed assistance and I said no and smiled. She kept staring at me then returned to her sales desk about three feet away from me and told the gentlemen across from her I looked disturbed. Hello. I am still here I can hear you. I said as I thought that a bit rude, it was my first time in the store and that I would not be shopping here again and she said that is good. I was really shaken by this experience. I have owned a home in the neighbourhood for more than 10 years. Granted I come from a place of privilege but on my way home I kept wondering how she would treat people who didn't. I guess Helga doesn't need the business. Please don't shop here.

The changing collections in the windows are what drew me to this fabulous store! Inside is even better. The collections Helga carries are all beautiful quality and style. The prices are reflective of the quality only; if this lovely neighbourhood store was located downtown, the prices would be much higher, I'm quite sure!

I particularly like the Marcain label. I've bought many clothes here that I've worn again and again.
