Less than 3 years ago we purchased 3 Patio door at home depot. They came from Farley and we were told that they had a life time warranty. We never really had problems with home depot so we believed this because that is supposed to be so at any window you purchase. The doors were never good but then, they also were inexpensive. We had them professional installed and already shortly after we had problems closing them. The installer looked into it and said that the frame was out and that he really couldn't do anything about that. We could replace them but it he was a private contractor and that would have been extra money again. So we left it. We just had to push a bit better to close them properly. The doors are poorly designed and if we had done a bit more research on the quality we probably would paid more for better patio doors.
Shortly before Christmas 2019 we woke up to a big bang like an explosion in the house. It was cold outside and we thought that it was our wooden deck that makes funny noises when it is really cold. When I got up in the morning I was in for a shock. The panel we use to go in and out the house had exploded. At that point it was the outside panel that looked like someone had decorated it with lots of tiny cracks. We thought that we had life time warranty and so we waited until after Christmas to go to Home Depot to see what we could do about that. In the mean time the whole panel blasted apart and we had a hard time cleaning it up because of the ice rain on that day.
I was afreight that the other doors had a defect too because after researching what has happen I found that this is mainly do of a defect door. Since I knew that my other doors were not the best really was worried.
Home Depot tried to help but the person in charge to help us didn't know that the warranty of the Patio door from that company didn't involve the glass. After a few arguments with the distributor of the glass door they send the attachment of the warranty where it says that Patio door glass is not covered. I wouldn't have been so concerned if the doors in general would have been a better product. But now after doing a fair amount of research online I feel that this is not a glass mater but a safety issue. What if the window would have blasted into the room like it did at another incident in the USA? What if I had my granddaughters or some company over sitting on a chair close to the window?
I am trying to find someone now to check out the other patio doors. I am also afraid if we replace the panel glass which can't be done now in the winter anyhow, that perhaps the other one will not keep the seal anymore.
Well, let's see it this way, my patio doors really shouldn't get a star but thumbs down. The company will not address this issue. For them it is a glass problem and glass is not under their warranty. I wasn't able to get hold of any higher official within the company or has the company a complaints department.
I only have the pleasant person in home depot to work with and I am trying to get in contact with someone higher to look into this issue.
Just be aware if you purchase patio doors with this company. The glass is not covered. The doors are of poor quality. Perhaps some people are lucky, but in our case...... who know what other problems will come up. I certainly would not purchase windows with this company again not only of poor quality but really poor service.

We have nothing but praise to say about our Farley windows and doors. They were installed properly ,which I think is the key ,and we've had them for almost 20 years now. Great product !

I gave this window brand one star only because there was no option for NO STARS. We have tolerated them and their drafts for ten years now. I can place a candle flame near the window and it bends. We placed aftermarket custom made storms on many, but still the air is flowing during wind storms, which we have many of near Lake Ontario. The first year, they fogged, had accumulations of heavy condensation around the edges and in the bedroom, which was shut off from the rest of the house, there was ice half way up the panes. This was nothing for the company to be proud. I sent them detailed photos and shamed them into sending a rep; all he did was place "bandaids" on them. This year, we stuffed the tracks with a thin styrofoam insulation and cotton balls, which has improved the drafts on those windows that do not have storms. We looked into replacing them with Marvins, but because we ordered the Farleys with the attached casing on the outside, we would have a major expense in addition to the window replacement, most likely causing us to reside the house in areas. Yea, we're far from pleased and would not recommend Farley to our worse friend. Good luck if your contractor talks you into these.

Had all our windows done (11) via Home Depot. They were recommended to us by friends who had casements installed. We had double hung installed. Double pane is only about 1 half inch. You can feel the cold emanating from them in the winter months. We have had the home depot people out a couple of times to address some air leak issues. As far as sound proof goes............... not much. On double sliders, the screens cover the whole window not just the one side, a bit annoying to look through. We are told by another window installer that vinyl may be chinese not Canadian. Should have done our own research. Would not recommend.

I've been a window installer for many years, and most of the poor reviews here are due to IMPROPER INSTALLATION, rather than the window itself.

I've generally been pleased with Farley windows. Occasionally their finishing isn't perfect, but structurally they are great.

Most of our windows were replaced in the late 90s with Farley double hung windows. The windows flip in for washing but most of the latches that hold the window in place have broken off so when the window is open it easily falls in. This has been dangerous as a couple of them have fallen on our children. Luckily no major injuries. Out of 10 windows the latches have broken on 8 of them. I have contacted Farley and they have no replacement clips available. I expected more than 10-15 years out of these windows and I am not in a financial position to replace them again at this time. I am very dissappointed in the company.

Purchased Farley Windows in the fall of 2010. Very sorry that I did not do proper research. These windows leak during the rain and ice up during the winter I have been designing for some fourty years and I would compare the so called top of the line sliders promoted as a far superior window to the Jen Weld line are no better than the pearson sashless slider used fourty years ago .Shame on you Farley , as you are well aware of the inferior product you are promoting.

I bought Farley windows in the past to replace a few windows and recently, I completed the replacement of all my home windows with the Farley product and I am very satisfied. These are great windows for a good price. They are beautiful and they made a big difference in both our heating and cooling costs. I definitely recommend this product!

My dad has been installing windows for 25 years now. Installing is 80% of it. Also if your leaving your window open for years and years, it will eventually sag. Pay for a good installer and you will get a quality window from Farley

After researching other brands, I have decided on Farley. I have been a builder, and know materials. These have the right materials, and designs. The critical part of any window is installation, and these windows have proper support tabs, and flanges for a good tight fit. Low E windows are a standard now, and these have a high rating. I highly recommend Farley windows!!

We have a big, old house (85 yrs old). We have been replacing the original windows a few at a time with Farley inserts into the original frames. I am a do-it-yourselfer and the job is easy. We noticed an immediate improvement in drafts and cold radiating from the windows, in fact, no drafts at all anymore. And we live in Winnipeg!!

Some of the windows have been in place now for nearly ten years and we had no problems whatsoever. In fact, I just ordered four more yesterday! Love 'em.

After 11 years and still going strong. Need to repalce the felt seals for energy audit but if not for audit would barely have known there was super minor draft issues

This morning we had a visit from a Farley Windows Company representative. For the last several months we have had a problem with one of four windows we bought from them (via Home Depot). The window doesn't close properly. The guy who installed them came to our house last week and seemed to think we don't know how to close a window, so after we received no satisfaction from him, we asked to see a rep from the company. Someone showed up this morning, and again proceeded to explain how to close a window. Ridiculous. The problem is that over time the windows become out of alignment, so you have to push in or pull out or in some way change the way you close the window in order for it to close. This guy told us that EVERY client he has experiences the same problem with this type of window. He replaced tilt latches and that appeared to fix the alignment problem, but then the latches didn't close properly. He didn't care; he said that's just the way it is.

Would not recommend them at all. On my one order of five windows they managed to screw up three times. One of those errors was sending one window with different framing then the other four. They were suppose to do a rush order to get it to me asap..the replacement window has taken longer to get here then the original order. This company is very unprofessional and I would not recommend them. Thank heavens Home Depot has helped out as much as they can and offered some credit..we would be in big trouble if we had to deal directly with them. I would go with someone else the next time. These guys stink!!

I purchased new Farley windows that were recomended to me by Home Depot. They are beautiful windows but are not woth the money even at their cheaper price. The sashes sagged and warppes out of shape, out of square and some of my frames lost their shapes. It took 8 months to have them fixed and they are still no up to par. One of their technicians even admitted that Farley windows use thinner vinyl than other window makers and they are aware of this problem. I will never buy Farley windows again and strongly recomend others not to. Even if they are the only ones you can aford, find a way to buy the better brand. On my new house, the Farley windows were by far the worst investment I have made.

I recently purchased a number of Farley windowms. They are absolutely aweful. Lack of quality and workmanship. All sashes were at leat 1/4 inch off square. Many other manufacturing defects. Good price, but aweful quality. Would never recommend
