Rampro Welding & Machine Ltd, Victoria Reviews (1)
Because his price was right, we decided to go with Rampro. However, there were red flags right from the beginning. He was just plain hard to get a hold of and he often didn't follow through with his committments to come look at the job, etc.
Finally, he did the job (a hand rail for our front sidewalk steps). It looked good but when we grabbed the rail, it was so flimsy it whipped back and forth for minutes. When we called him to ask him why it was so flimsy, he told us he knew that it was too flimsy but he had decided to wait for our complaint until coming back to fix it. Apparently, he has no pride in his workmanship.
He came back and reinfored the rail so that it was no longer so flimsy and then asked for the remainder of the payment. After we paid him and lost all leverage, he told us that he'd only been able to put one coat of paint on the reinforced pieces so he would come back to put a second coat on, otherwise it would begin to rust. He told me we were not to let him forget and that he was expecting to be there the following week when he had another job in the area. So over the course of the next 4 months we tried several times to contact him via email but he went completely silent. Finally, I emailed and asked him to respond otherwise I would have to involve the BBB. Surprise, he emailed immediately and was so self-righteous and offended that I had "threatened" him to finish the job and challenged me to call the BBB and that he was not going to finish the job. No integrity whatsoever. What was I to do when he doesn't respond for 4 months?? I then called him to hopefully set things straight and he backed down and agreed to finish the job in the next week. He then emailed me and changed his mind and again challenged me to call the BBB.
So I have a rail that isn't finished and I've learned a lesson that Rampro has no integrity and pride of workmanship. I hope others can avoid learning that same lesson the hard way. Stay clear!!!
