They gave me a line of credit without any information at the end my bill was 1700 dollars Iam on odsp and won't see my dog when he needed to put him down. They won't release his medical. One good thing is that everybody knows about his dirty little secret, he took advantage of a lady on low income and abused my dog.

I ORIGINALLY SENT THESE COMMENTS TO OWNER DR. DARBANT ON DEC 5TH BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM YET EVEN THOUGH I FOLLOWED UP WITH HIM MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN...
I visited here twice with my two cats to see Dr Elizabeth. One of my cat is overweight and even though our reason for visit was her stomach issues, and problem was caused by changing her food, still DR. Elizabeth and receptionist Brigitte insisted changing her food to the vet food. Their approach was condescending and playing shaming games on me like my rescued cat's weight issue is my fault. I resisted since we tried changing her food before which caused issues. Finally Brigitte offered a free sample and in less than 48 hours, my cat was badly throwing up again just before our vacation. Concerned and angry I called the clinic back and Brigitte was very rude over the phone and her exact words were "DIDNT YOU GET FREE FOOD, WHY ARE YOU STILL COMPLAINING?" We researched and changed our vet and now we have peace of mind that we have a veterinarian who cares about our cats, not MONEY! We learned that PROFIT MARGINS ARE VERY HIGH WITH THE PET FOOD AND DISHONEST VETS WHO PRIORITIZE MONEY OVER YOUR PET'S HEALTH WILL TRY TO FORCE THEM ON YOU.
It is hard to believe this vet clinic has 4.9 starts, which I can see mostly "local guides" they are associated with RIVERDALE ANIMAL HOSPITAL and you can see more honest feedback there.

I am deeply saddened and stunned to hear about Dr. McGarragle's passing. For years I took my dog there and I credit his knowledge and expertise that he kept my dog living a wonderful life for 15 of them. My dog had to have extensive surgeries. I found this doctor compassionate and reasonable with his rates. He was always there for me when there was an emergency situation. I took another dog there because the owner couldn't find out what was wrong with her dog and Dr. McGarragle hit it on the nail within 5 minutes. My heartfelt condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed, but surrounded by so many of his patients!

I recently was stunned to hear that Dr Mcgarigle passed away of Pneumonia on November 10. He apparently kept coming to the clinic to care for the animals, in spite of his illness. This is sad, but shows just how much he loved caring for them. He was difficult to understand because of his speech impediment, but he took good care of our cats over the years.

This is a good Clinic and they don't charge a fortune for what they do. They will carry on Dr Mcgarrigle's work, with another Vet - Dr Ziva (sp) and I look forward to meeting her when I bring my 3 cats there in the next few weeks.

I have taken my cat to see Dr. McGarragle MANY times and he is absolutely fabulous with her (expecially because she tends to be difficult when seeing veternarians. In response to another persons posting - he is NOT a butcher!! many of my friends and family members have had surgeries with thier animals there and have NEVER had a problem. I would, without a question, advise people to visit metro animal hospital - the staff there are GREAT and friendly.
Dr. McGarragle - we miss you everyday may you rest in peace surrounded by the things you love...ANIMALS!!

In a response to another posting regarding Dr. Mcgarragles abilities to perform surgery and give needles properly, i think you may have just had a bad experience, which unfortunately can happen with any veterinarian. Dr. Mcgarragle has been nothing but amazing with my female cat. She has been going there for years, and although he does have a speech impairment, his staff is always there to help!!! He has been a Vet for many many years and clearly knows what he is doing when it comes to animals. Not only does Dr. Mcgarragle work with cats and dogs but he also works with birds, rabbits, ferrets, hampsters etc. he is extremely knowledgeable and i would definately recommend going there. He is caring and gentle!!!! DO NOT listen to the other posting regarding him "butchering" thier cats - ridiculous

Between our four adult children we have four dogs in the family and a fifth soon to join the pack. They range from a four pound yorkie to a seventy pound goldendoodle. Dr. McGarrigle is vet to the four and will be vet to the fifth, a minature poodle. YES he is hard to understand because of his speech impediment BUT when it comes to looking after our pets, he is everything our dogs want in a vet. This is not a vet who stopped acquiring knowledge after graduation. Not only is he current in the latest developments in surgery and medication, but he has read up on the pros and cons of any step to be taken. He tells you like it is so you can make an intelligent decision. He does not run a boutique clinic so there are no frills for pet owners.

I've taken my Border Collie Shepherd cross to Metro Animal Hospital since we "rescued" him six years ago. The staff are very caring and Dr. McGarrigle is knowledgable and clearly loves animals. Highly recommended.

I brought three cats to Metro Animal Clinic on Danforth about 3 years ago. One of my cats was a very friendly male and the others were two females. I can't remember the doctor's name, but he had a speech impediment. He tried forcing the needle into my male cat during his first shot. The needle bent, but he continued forcing it into my male cat until I yelled out that he had to stop and use a new needle.
I had taken my cats all at once, so I didn’t know the quality of their surgeries at the time. It was Dr. McGarragle performing the surgeries. The females were opened up by about 10cm. Both were stitched back like a sack with a deep hole in the middle. I’ve never seen such a surgery result in my life. Today, in Europe, they do not open up more than 1cm. Their healing took longer than a regular healing. I never went back there again and despite how clean their shop looks, I would never recommend them to any pet owner.

I had a great experience visiting Metro animal hospital.
I was going to other vet clinics were doctors were constantly pushing you to buy extra unnecessary shampoo , food etc.
Dr. McGarragle is very knowledgeable. I came to him with my ferret and I felt that he truly wanted to help me out, he took his time to talk to me, to explain my options.
He was very gentle with my poor guy. I strongly advice Dr.McGarragle he is really great!
And also, what is not less important his price are reasonable!
