Worst vet I've ever experienced. Dr. Pittaway is rude, arrogant and doesn't care about anything but making money.

Don't pay any attention to GINAASO's comment.....clearly has had a bad experience but decided to make a statement of the Dr's overall competency. I have been dealing with Dr. Pittaway for over 12 years and have nothing but positive comments. He's very compassionate. Yes, pricey but if you want reduced pricing....go to a country vet. Remember, you are generally treated by people they way you treat them...so you probably need to take stock on your behavior.

I had brought my dog in for a dental cleaning as i had done two times before. I received a call in the afternoon from dr. Pittaway that my dog now had a whistle and he had removed 6 teeth. I had never had any discussions about any teeth that needed to be extracted or gum disease. I did not give my consent to have the teeth out and he had no right to do this. Stay away.

First of all from the moment I walked in the receptionist seemed like she hated me. I have never been there before and I have a new pet. Doctor and assistant were fabulous, but of course one had to ruin my experience. When I was leaving I had questions about my insurance and she treated me like I was stupid, and would not help me. She said I needed to do all these things to get reimburse, but I did not. She is there to help and she did the opposite of that. It is very expensive, therefore my insurance is not a joke, I have it for a reason. She just did not want to do her job. Not to mention while she was getting my bill ready she decided to put everything down so she could have a conversation with a customer about dinner, and made me wait. Not happy at all with the customer service, and that matters too!

There is one receptionist there that is less than pleasant, I will agree. Since she is the manager of first impressions, she needs to be more friendly and helpful. Same when on the phone. Less than pleasant.

We brought all our small animals including ferrets, guinea pigs as well as a number of dogs over the past 13 years to the Golflinks Clinic. Dr. Pittaway and the staff have always been kind and sincere and at no time did I ever find the expense too great. We were never turned down at any time when there was an emergency and we always felt that Dr. Pittaway had a genuine caring for our animals and their best interest at heart. In 2015 we took our dog to Australia which was a tedious and stressful preparation. Dr. Pittaway made this transition easy for us. We miss him.

I had Dr Pitaway first. I found him rude and ignorant. He I had a little bow on my yorkie and he kept emphasizing that she is a dog not a child. I found him rude and figured he has a preference for larger dogs. I switched to Dr waters who was actually pleasant. I took my dog for routine vaccines and check ups for three years. They made money on my scheduled appoinents. One Friday afternoon around 4pm my dog started bleeding on the thigh. I rushed him to Dr waters who arrogantly said he didn't know what happened to her. He did not even take her into an examine to he just looked at her site in the waiting room and told be up take her home clean her wound and make an appointment Monday. I was frantically crying thinking maybe my dog had done sort of cancer it animal bite. He could not answer that until her wound was cleaned and he could not go thst them because I did not have an appointment and they were closing in five minutes. Just come back Monday he said. Do I was to have my dog suffer all weekend ? I asked myself. I called Beaties they took her in right away. They cleaned her, stitched her wound and have me some topical antibiotics to control the infection. I love Beaties it's the best place for your pet !!

Dr. Pittaway is very gentle and patient with my nervous pup. He has excellent common sense and trouble-shooting skills. I have NOT found the costs to be higher at all. We have been going there for 10 years now.

Dr. Pittaway was referred to me by a friend. Now, I refer him and Dr. Waters to my friends. I have every confidence in the staff at Golf Links. The cost might be a little higher than other vets. However, friends of mine spent a year at another vet due to a stubborn ear infection (those visits add up). The vets at Golf Links were able to successfully treat the problem in one visit.
They will not sell you something you don't need. Make your next appointment at Golf Links.

Dr. Pittaway has been our vet for our 3 bunnies for the past 7 years. Even after we moved out of town we still kept in contact with him by email and often asked him for medical advice. You won't find a better bunny vet in this area. He's very knowledgeable and when he's not sure about something he does a lot of research and will also refer you to OVC. My bunny is turning 9 this Fall and she has survived the largest tooth abscess that the OVC has seen. I accredit her survival to the expertise of both Dr. Pittaway and Dr. Taylor at the OVC. I am a research scientist by profession and so it impresses me that Dr. Pittaway keeps up with current research and therapies. Costs are a little high, but for the service and expertise it's worth it.

Not sure what the other reviewer is talking about, but I have been to the OVC at Guelph as well as several other vets over the last 6 years for our dog and guinea pigs, and Dr. Pittaway at Golf Links has been the best by far. He's is kind, thorough, returns calls and will even go out his way to research issues with your pet if he is uncertain. He does not dismiss your concerns and takes time to answer questions. He's a good guy and I have absolute confidence in him and his staff.

Dr. Pittaway has been our vet for over 10 years. He is an incredibly kind and compassionate person. He always takes the time to explain to us what is going on with our dog and listens to our concerns. He really does put the dog and the owner first. He makes going to the vet a fun experience that we all look forward to.
