I would not give any stars, but you have to put something for the review to go through.

I would never go back to the Brimley Lawrence Animal Clinic. I took my dog there to be neutered and was not impressed by the office space-- it did not seem to be very clean. I took my dog home after the pick up time, and monitored his progress at home. The next day he bled from his penis every time he peed, and in- between. I called to speak to a vet, and decided to see if he got better by the next day. He was still bleeding the next day, so I took him in to be seen.

The female vet was H O R R I B L E, unprofessional, and downright incompetent in the way she handled my dog. She checked my dog in one of the examining rooms, didn't introduce herself, did not smile or act in any way pleasant, seemed like she hated her job, wore a dirty lab coat, and did not wash her hands or put on clean gloves to examine my dog. I had put my dog on the examining table and she R O U G H L Y flipped him onto his back to examine his penis. That is NO WAY to examine a dog barely two days post surgery, or anytime. My dog is a small breed, and weighed maybe 4 pounds at that time. She again
R O U G H L Y pulled the outside skin on his penis back to examine him. She said he probably had a urinary tract infection which he "must of had before he was taken in for the surgery", (although he had no signs or symptoms of a UTI before he was taken in for his operation), and that it could have been caused if he had a full bladder when they did the surgery, even though he had nothing to drink for hours before the surgery, (he slept in his kennel, and did not get anything to drink when he was taken out just prior to going to get his surgery). He had also peed before being taken in for the surgery, so his bladder would have been empty, and they are also supposed to check to see if their bladder is full, and "express" it prior to the surgery anyway. (The staff in the back room were busy loudly discussing their personal lives the whole time I was waiting with my dog to be seen).

She ordered an antibiotic, which I had asked for the day of the surgery. l had to wait quite a while to get the prescription. The receptionist didn't seem to have a clue what she was doing, and went to check on the script. She never came back to the desk. I think her shift was over and she went home. I had to ask another receptionist for it a while later. I did not go back for a post op check a week later, and would never go back there!!!! Yes, initially you may get a cheaper quote, but they "add" on things which can up the bill, so BEWARE.

I have never had any problems with any vets I have taken my dogs to over the past 40 years, until this unfortunate meeting with this woman who calls herself a vet. Is it not an obvious prerequisite for people who want to be vets to love animals, and to treat them and their owners with respect? Hopefully this woman "vet" has left the country. She was just nasty!
