Hands down the WORST veterinary clinic in BC. If I could rate this 0 stars I really would! There is one doctor on staff for hamsters and he has NO care in the world for animal life and no professionalism. I took my hamster there for an examination last night around 6:30pm because she had a lump growing on her pelvic area and was losing patches of hair. Of course this isn't normal so I decided to go get her checked out. Upon arriving, I had to wait about an hour and a half because there is only one doctor on staff and he was doing another surgery. When he finally got around to seeing my hamster, he first of all, handled her so roughly although she was in pain, using a napkin to pick her up by the neck to see what was wrong and nearly squishing her as she's screaming. Then he goes on to tell me that they don't perform blood tests, x rays, scans NOTHING to see what's wrong but assumed it was a tumor based on the size and that she needed surgery to have it removed, charging me for the surgery, anesthetic and meds. Wanting to see her out of the pain she was in so badly, I decided to trust his judgement being that he was the professional. He REFUSED to perform it last night after giving me the option to leave her and come back, telling me today that he wasn't going to have time although it is a 24 hour clinic. So I brought her back this afternoon like he suggested and about an hour and a half into surgery, he calls to tell me that she's opened up on the table dying because it's attached to the intestines and he took everything out without consulting me about what was even going on with her. I asked him if she was closed and if he could try to wake her and he tells me no she's still opened up and dying although he put her sleep with the anesthetic, and I can come down so he could better explain. When I get there, He has everything sewn up including a part of her tail and her body dumped in a box as if she was a piece of trash. The NEGLIGENCE of this clinic sickens me to my stomach to know there are doctors running a practice like this with no remorse and no heart for animals. This would've never happened if the necessary precautions were taken. No medical report was given, no exams or scans were done, he could not even tell me what kind of cancer it was or if it was benign or malignant. This doctor, Naresh Patyal, should not be practicing!!

I had to have 3 days of observation at the vet clinic before applying to the college.
I went to 3 different places and was denied that simple request. The staff at the ATLAS clinic were friendly and happy to help me. They allowed me to be present at the clinic for 3 days to apply to college and showed me round and told me a lot about their work.
The doctors and other staff were attentive to the pets and owners all the days I was present. I highly recommend their services.

I have been to different vets but my friend advised me to go to atlas in north vancouver. This was the best service my taffy ever got. Staff was very friendly and doctor was very knowledgable.

I would recomend all my family and friends to take their pets to this place.

We recently adopted a kitten from the Shelter at Atlas and when the time was right I took her in to be spayed. I have dealt with Atlas for about 8 years and they have always been very good to my animals. I picked the kitten up expecting her to be uncomfortable and groggy but relatively pain free, instead she was an absolute wild cat, screaming and falling over, hissing, spitting growling a biting - obviously in intense pain, It was totally heart breaking. Up until that point she had never even hissed at a spider. Her incision was also not fully stitched - about a half inch at the top was left open.

I'm not sure what has happened to this vet but they are not the same as they were. The kitten is back to her happy self but it's an experience I will never forget.

Just wanted to say that we have taken our cat and dog to Atlas for 11 years now and we have had excellent service and care. Dr. Jagpal and staff have performed everything from emergency surgery and teeth cleaning to routine vaccines. I can honestly say they are excellent and always call to comunicate with us about any situation we've found ourseves in. I highly recommend them!

Our dog's ear was ripped by another dog & desperately needed stitches. This happened at a time when all other North Shore vets were either too busy to help or were closing for the day. Atlas took us with no notice & did a great job sewing his ear up. Barely a scar! The female vet was laid-back & gentle, & the bill was very reasonable. The receptionist & all other staff were sweet as well. I'm surprised by these bad reviews! While we were waiting, I noticed the clientele seemed pretty low on the socio-economic ladder... Maybe this place is good for those who know what they want done & don't just follow vet's advice blindly. Do a bit of research before you decide about vaccinating your pet. Be in control.

OK, I don't know if things have changed big time there, but I love this place.I have been going there for years, and these crappy reviews always killed me. After this time, I had to write the truth. Brought my poor cat in and they stayed open late for me, then had 3 post check ups and it was all included in the original price. (Which was...I bet 500 bucks less than down the road at the "cat house " :) ) I love the secretary very helpful and there was no smell, ok a faint disinfectant, the place is clean. I went to the back and saw the operating area and holding area, clean. And I gotta tell you the Vet was super nice! Whatever, I give it 5 stars!

The Doctor has a terrible beside manner with humans and animals. He handled my cat roughly and his examination lasted 30 seconds and he didn't take any care in administering the vaccines. It was an AWFUL EXPERIENCE!

this place is aweful! Took my kitten there. She is an indoor cat. They gave her every shot in the book and in her back! (rabies and lukemia are supposed to be in hind legs) the Dr. was rough and failed to mention the ear mites and Uveitis she has. Took her to "all about cats" and was thrilled with Dr. Richards and all staff. It's a little pricier, but she is part of our family and deserves the best.

i have always used atlas because of their discounted rates, but have always felt uncomfortable there. the last time i was there to neuter my cat, it smelled so bad I could hardly breath. it smelled the same three days later. when my cat came home, he smelled horrible as well. i recently had an emergency and had to use another vet. the first thing i noticed was how fresh it smelled. everyone seemed to genuinely care about my pet and took the time out of their very busy days to talk to me about what was going on and let me visit my cat. i no longer care about the price, i want my animals to be safe and cared for and clean.

Our one year old female cat was spayed by Atlas. After the operation the cat kept going into heat and from discussion with the vet they could only find one ovary. They said they would operate again for a cost of 50.00$. After discussions with other professionals I realized this was quite unusual for a spaying to be not fully completed.

I was not comfortable returning to this vet so I went to another vet where they found the other ovary and removed it. I felt Atlas should have done the re-do for free and after it happened I lost confidence in Atlas and I do business with another vet.

The prices here are very good. I recommend them for spaying/neutering. I would NOT recommend boarding your pet here. They have a cat room where they put all the boarding cats together, without knowing whether they will get along, hurt each other, etc. They board dogs in a very small enclosure, and they are given one short walk a day, two if they're very lucky. They also hire staff that have no training or former experience with animals. What do you expect for a company that pays $8/hr. and a .25 cent raise every six months, no exceptions.
