Bendell Haulage Ltd

Around 9AM this morning (March 04, 2009) I witnessed a 53' Bendell Haulage truck tailgate a car for over a kilometre on westbound Highway 401. The Bendell driver was no more than a metre from the rear bumber of the smaller vehicle, travelling at speeds in excess of 110 km/hour. Both vehicles were in the middle lane of the highway. A second transport truck was 3-4 metres ahead of the car, and a third truck was in the right hand lane driving at a similar speed. Because of these other vehicles the car could not accelerate, nor could it safely change lanes, and yet the Bendell driver followed so closely it is a wonder there was not an accident. When the car did manage to change lanes the Bendell truck accelerated to pass, and in the process crossed over the line behind the car and almost sideswiped it - the car moved onto the shoulder to avoid collision. The Bendell truck proceeded to accelerate to a speed of 120 km or more. In this incident the Bendell driver endangered his own life and the lives of many other drivers, it is disturbing to know such an irresponsible person is operating such a large vehicle. The truck involved had "Bendell Haulage Markham" on the cab and the trailer, and the number on the trailer was 20404.
