Lasalle Travel Svc

I recently booked a 7-day trip for 6 with this company. Betty(co-owner) handled this trip for us. Unfortunately, she dropped the ball. I was unaware that my passport had to be valid for 6 months BEFORE I left on my trip. You would think that a travel agent would mention that, right? Wrong! I was, therefore, turned away at the airport. So after I watched my 5 friends board the plane I took an $80 cab ride back to Windsor. Of course it was the weekend so I had to wait till Monday to get an emergency passport, to the tune of $230 after which I called Betty.She then told me she could get me on a plane the next day to the tune of $206...then charged me TWICE for the ticket.. She was able to get me on a flight the next day but I had to travel through the night and wait 5 hours before my flight at the airport. She NEVER mentioned the extra airfare to me...so when I returned from my trip I noticed the discrepency in my account and called Betty. Apparently, she knew about the overcharge all along but "forgot" to mention it to me. So she "forgot" to mention the passport and the overcharge and I lost the money for the first flight? Betty response "it's not my fault". Isn't that why I hire a travel agent, to make sure everything goes smoothly? If this is how the OWNER does business, I can't imagine that this is a good company to deal with.
