went in for repair and service and it was a disaster , they are crooked & incompetent,
I asked for repair to a tranny mount , a leak in drive shaft seal , and to put in spark plugs that I had with me plus to clear the engine light that I fixed the problem for already........................................

1. the tranny mount was re bolted on but he used washers as spacers to compensate for the main exhaust mount that he took out and returned in the back of my truck (exhaust mount now needs repair by redoing the whole job he did over ) ........................................................................

2. there is a leak in the drive shaft seal still , he instead drained and refilled the tranny and resealed the tranny pan , when he was done he told me he put a used gasket in there to save me money , its now leaking all over my newly sealed driveway and a mess on another one I had to clean up (now needs a new gasket and tranny flush redone) ........................................................................

3. plugs are in and seem ok , but the engine cover is missing and I have to get a new one ..........

4. he cleared the engine light but said he checked it first and that it was a 02 sensor and would not pass my next e test , I refused as this was just checked and I fixed it as it was a bad gas cap , I later took it for e test and it passed with flying colours ( proof he tried to rip me off )....................

I am currently awaiting an appointment with ford to re do the job and fix the problems they created & to see if there is any damage to tranny ......

It seems like we all have basically the same review is some form or another.
Since Jordan took over about 3 years ago I have to say he is as professional and honest as there is. I am 50 years old and drive about 70,000 km per year so I have taken my vehicles to many garages over the years. The staff and Moe are outstanding. They definately rely on customer service as their #1 selling point and matched by their quality work.
670,000km on my van and they keep it going strong.

I recently had my brakes done at AAMCO and I am so happy i chose them. I was treated with respect, offered a coffee while i waited, and the mananger was even willing to take me home so I didn't have to wait around. Before i choose AAMCO i called 3 different shops and AAMCO had the best price by far. I would strongly recommend these guys, Jordan is the manager and he was great. If you need auto work deal with Jordan at AAMCO.

Aamco Transmissions on Fairway was far the best service I have seen. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great indoor waiting area, with coffee and magazines. I called many car places and Aamco beat every price. I would greatly recommend checking them out, I had a great experience and will be a repeat costumer.

I would like to compliment Aamco Transmissions & Total Car Care on making my visit so positive! I took my car in for service - the wait time was as promised with coffee, treats & magazines. I liked that I could look into the garage area through the waiting room and actually see what was being done to my car. The manager Jordan was very helpful & courteous. Pricing was reasonable and I will be back because of this positive experience!

I am a 28 year old female who has no idea about cars. I was recommended to AAMCO by a friend and sure enough they explained things in great detail with me.

Great service, great location and I recommend to anyone with doubts.

I had an experence with this repair shop that was less then decent. I had some work done by them and they would not honor the warranty on the transmission. Also I also felt that the customer service guy was really pushy and was very unclear about what part of my transmission was broken. He said I had to sign to an rip and take apart estimate for a cost of $350. Which I agreed to, then after he said he could not put my transmission back together without fixing it completely since it would go aganst his duty to protect his customers safty. So I said fine and went ahead with the repair, only to have it checked out at another transmission shop after it broke less then a week later and was told that nothing was replaced or rebuilt in the transmission, all that was done was it was put back together with new oil. It was a transmission oil return line that was the issue, not the transmission at all. I paid over $2400 for the repair from aamco and they refused to stand by the work saying that they fixed the transmission and since it was the oil line for the transmission it is not thir problem. I will never take my car there. Also the review above almost looks like a employee of the shop trying to fix the rating since it touches on all of the other persons problems that they stated.

That's awful what they did to you!
Comment by jennifer on Jan 10, 2008
nothing was relplaced? oh my goodness! thank goodness you went somewhere else after it broke..
Comment by optimal on Jan 14, 2008
I did comment on the other persons remarks because I felt they were totally untrue. I was taking my own experience and those of my family members experiences into account (It was recommended by my aunt that I go to this shop) when I say I will continue to use this repair shop. Maybe it is the new owner that makes this shop a cut above the rest.
Comment by Dusty on Jan 15, 2008
Yeah, well the new owner has made no difference in this company. I am a public servent and after doing some looking found out about heard a lady who just finished up a lawsuit against them for reasons that I am not allowed to disclose due to my profession. However there are a few other proceedings against this "Cut above the rest" company. The number one rule normally is when a company is failing and a new owner takes over that the problems go with the old owner, however from the history of aamco kitchener it appears that this owner has no business sence and is just out for a quick buck and has an even worse track record in the first few months then the last owner. THIS IS NOT A COMPANY ANYONE WANTS TO DO ANY KIND OF BUSINESS WITH.
Comment by meeks on Jan 23, 2008
There are no lawsuits pending or otherwise with the current owner of AAMCO Kitchener, I would know this because I am the owner. If you are snooping through private files for supposed lawsuits your wasting your time and could possibly be breaking the law, since you supposedly can't disclose the info my bet is there is none. The company was sold because the previous owner has severe health problems which are none of your business. If you did bring your car in during the time that I have owned the shop I would remember a complaint from work being completed incorrectly and returned a week later because we keep track of "come backs" which at our center are very few (less than 1.5% to be exact) we have a great builder. AAMCO has a nationwide warranty if we supposedly refused to repair your vehicle you could have walked into any AAMCO...Hamilton, Toronto etc. and we would have had to pay the bill. Could it be that you had no bill and the story is fictitous. You are awfully angry and judgemental about someone you have never met. Why not stop by the shop someday and we'll go over your bill like civilized adults.

P.S. Thank you for the kind words Optimal, I look forward to serving you in the future.

Please dont judge the new owners from my reviews and remarks about the old owners. Rowan the owner and Brian the manager are the new owners. My remarks were about Mikiea Bydeweg and her staff who have since all left AAMCO. My remarks should not effect AAMCO Kitchener as part of your choices of transmission shops.

Hello, no it is not over yet, it has been going on since Nov 1 and they still have my car. They know I cant come up with $3000 within the time required before they can sell it, which is 60 days. So there is pretty much nothing I can do execpt warn others.
Comment by Manduh on Dec 09, 2007
this just leaves me angry! That wuold surely upset anyone. Sorry you had to go through this.... Is is over yet? Thanks for the info!

I will not recommend this place to anyone and will be warning friends about it!!!

The bus runs every few minutes? That is AWFUL!
Comment by optimal on Jan 09, 2008
That's too bad you had a problem with them, I too have had work done with them as well and they were great. When I expressed concern over the cost of the repair, they broke it down and explained it in detail so I could understand it better. I'm rather surprised that they started work without a deposit even while I waited for my ride there were 2 other people that came in to pay a deposit so work could be started on their vehicles. I did mention that I would like to make payments for the repair because it was too much for me to pay all at once (I'm a "starving student") and they offered RIFCO. Now I just make a small monthly payment to RIFCO. Overall I'm a very satisfied customer and I will pass that on!
