Anania Automatic Trans Spec, Woodbridge Reviews (1)
This shop is the reason why I lost all trust in mechanics.
When I was 17 years old, I brought my recently purchased used Hyundai because it was giving me problems.
The car was automatic, and sometimes when the traffic light would turn green I would hit the gas but the car wouldn't accelerate passed 40kms. I would have to pull over, wait a bit and try again. Eventually it would kick in and go passed 40km.
Thinking it may be a transmission issue, I brought the car to Anania/Woodbridge Transmission and Joe the owner said he would take a look at it.
About a day later, he told me that my car's transmission needs to be replaced. When I told him I couldn't afford it. (I was in highschool working part time) he said the cheaper option would be to rebuild it.
$1500 later I pick up my car and sure enough within 2 days the same problem happened again.
I bring the car in again, Joe says don't worry about it and that he'll check it out. At the end of the day the problem never got fixed. I brought the car in 4 different times and every single time they said the problem was solved. Even though it clearly wasn't.
About 1-1/2 years later I decided to get rid of the car. I sold it to a friend's father who is also mechanic. I didn't know him the time I brought the car in to Anania/Woodbridge Transmission.
I told him about the tranny problem. A couple days later my friends father called me and said he was able to fix the problem. Turns out it wasn't the tranny at all. All he needed to do was replace a $50 sensor.
He asked me where I brought the car to get "fixed" I told him Anania/Woodbridge Transmission.
He started laughing and said "I'm not surprised. Those guys are crooked. Whenever I need work done on a customer's car, I NEVER send it there"
