Kal Tire, Edmonton Reviews (9)
Had an appointment this week to have tires switched over, I was in and out in 30 minutes. Two weeks in a row, I had a slow leak in a tire, first in front and then the back. Kal Tire found a screw both times and repaired at no charge. Their staff is friendly, courteous and professional. I have been a customer of over 15 years and their great service is why I will continue to be.
I got up early to stand in line as I have always done. In the fall, they took the first 10 people. Today,it was only 3 unless you left your car with them until 6:00pm. I had checked the website to see if any changes had been made and nothing there. What a waste of time.
I own a BMW with run flat tires. BMW will not patch these tires and will only replace (at a cost of $450 + depending on tire size). Kal Tire has patched my tires four times and not charged me. Only once has Kaltire recommended buying a new tire, but that was after a patch on the sidewall gave out.
I also purchased winter tires here and take my tires seasonally to be changed. It is usually busy as I don't make an appointment and go at the busiest times, but otherwise, the service here is incredible.

Grande praire kal tire wasted my whole day. We drove two hours from grande cache over bad roads to get there by 7:30. They said first come first served and they had the tube required. After four hours not ready then five still and no update then six hours and we were told maybe by six at which point we bought the tube got the tire back drove two hours and installed ourselves by 5:30.
Went I to kal this morning to get a simple swap winter to my all seasons , turned out my all seasons had cracked which I had been told specifically I had another season left of them . They already had taken my winter tires off before they even checked the condition of my new tires so either way I had to pay the cost of taking them off . They quoted me 318 all together for two new tires so my cost went up by 320 dollars in the end I ended up buying them because what else was I going to do . They didn't offer me a discount or anything I was put on the spot . So disapointed I will not be back. Now thanks to this I cannot afford my other monthly expenses
I bought 4 tires, paid over $1400. for them.I felt some vibration at the steering wheel but didn't think to much of it . However two days later when I drove on the Henday the vibration was really bad .So I took my truck back to see what the problem was. Steve told me that the balancing had to be done again so they did .Next day the vibration was worse so I took it back. This time steve sent the truck for a test drive, after waiting over two hours he told me that it could be my truck , so they cheked for the bolt joins etc.. but everything seemed to be in good order. So he asked me to bring the truck back in the morning. I took the truck but this time Steve is giving me an attitude and he didn.t want to tell me what he would do .. I was a little worried so I asked Brandon , he told me that they would ask a technician and that he would take it for a ride.. again..I saw Steve and the technician (Claude ) talking and looking at my truck .. I went out for a coffee and received a call from Brandon asking me , How to open my truck's door? I told him I use the key that simple .. and he reply . well the key hole has been busted and there is no way to get in ... I was in shock when I saw the key hole had been tampered as if a thief wanted to steal the truck. They tried to tell me that I drove the truck like that in the morning .. I know that's not the case as I opened the door in the morning with the key .. I know they did it on purpose , I complain but to no use .. Finally one of them opened the door using some special tool .. they re-balance the tires , went for a test drive and this time was better ... as for the key hole .. they said it was like that and there is nothing I can do.. I know it was the technician Claude and Steve who did it but.. let karma deal with it .. I wish something like that happens to them so they'll know what it feels like /
We have dealt with Kal Tire for many yrs and have always experienced service above and beyond. However this one incident stands out for me-I had written a note outlining which tire was to be repaired-which one was brand new and not be to replaced-the diagram was very clear as were the written instructions. Imagine our shock to find our brand new tire removed and in our vehicle in a bag as a spare! And it had been replaced with a lower quality tire than what existed. We immediately went back and asked them to rectify their error-they did so and gave us a percentage off the new tires that were installed as a courtesy for their error. If you want them to do what you want-stay and be specific-sending notes and diagrams doesn't always ensure what is expected to be done will be on your vehicle.
I am impressed by their service.
I had a flat and i went to this Chinese mechanic and he wanted to sell his new tire for 300$ so i asked him to put my spare tire and then i went to Kal Tire (5810 -99 Street Edmonton) and they fixed the flat for FREE. Yes, tot tally free of cost. I am impressed by their professionalism and service.
I am their new customer and i will take my car there next time for servicing.

I have 4 winter tires and they put the only two that were studded on the front of a rear driven truck. It should be obvious to put the studded tires on the drive train...I did talk a bit with the tire changer he had 3 years experience too. Also, they refuse to "mark" the tires, which should be done that way for all tires as wear is slightly different from each side of the vehicle. It is not a big thing to do. His excuse was, "we measure", well if you measure at least observe which ones are studded first. sheeeeesh.
