Amey's Greenwood Taxi Ltd

Lost my purse the other night. Called around to all the places I was at with no luck. Didn't think to check with the cab company, but within 24 hours Amey's emailed me to tell me they had found my purse in one of their cars and had it ready for pickup at their office! They had got my email off one of my business cards. Needless to say, I only use these guys now.

I had major knee replacement surgery last Monday. Due to an infection I picked up during the procedure, I had to go to urgent care today to get an antibiotic prescribed. On the way back, I needed to take one of Amey's cabs to return home, in great amounts of personal pain. I accidentally dropped my morphine tablet pain killers. Rather than happily returning my medication, upon finding it in his cab, he charged me a full fare from downtown to return my meds which he told my wife he could have got more for selling them on the street. She was understandably upset, paying the twenty six dollar extortion fee, and I am furious! It wouldn't surprise me if he'd planned to keep the painkillers, and sell them. I think he was just hoping that I wouldn't notice my missing meds, so that he could sell them on the black market. I don't recommend this company to anyone!

Absolutely appauled. My husband left his phone in a cab because it fell out of his pocket. We were very worried but luckily he realized that he had lost it about 30 seconds after the cab had gone. He called the company and asked that the driver please come back as he couldnt be very far away. They said no that the best they could do was wait until morning and "search the car". i strongly believe someone wouldnt have taken it by then and so did my husband (plus it was very cold outside so it would have been aweful to leave it outside all night!) I called (the man that answered the phone was extremely rude to me...as was the woman who answered the phone for my husband...who was the same lady who hung up on him twice a few hours earlier when we tryied to call a cab from the grocery store! They are always rude.) He told me the same thing about waiting until morning, and I told him that was not acceptable (They told us some other interesting "information" about the drivers not being able to look for it now because they have to wait until daylight?!) When they realized that i was not backing down they finally agreed to send the cab back so long as we paid the cab fair from where he was coming from because it "wasnt their problem we left it in the car". The driver arrived later and told me that he looked for it and that the phone wasnt there. My husband and i had called it before he arrived at least five times and the ringer and vibrate was on...your telling me he couldnt hear it when it was beside the seat right next to him?! Then I paid him his fair (since apperently kindness doesnt exist w Ameys..). I also then called Modern and Amherst to see what they would have done and both of them offered to send the cab back free of charge and were even empathetic with my issue. We have had too many problems with Ameys and as you can tell be this review..we take cabs a lot but we will never take Ameys again. In fact, we will not be satisfied until we spread as much awareness as possible about this issue and others we have had in the past regarding Ameys. I may even go as far as to write an article for some local newspapers about this issue. I am sure we are not the first people to have issues with this company and Im positive we wont be the last. This is the absolute last straw for us. We can not believe how we were treated tonight and urge everyone to use another cab company.

I've used all three companies quite a bit in Kingston and Amey's is by far the most consistent and friendly. The other 2 companies have been very late or haven't even shown up too many times for me, while Amey's is usually very fast.

my two grandsons where picked up at home,one 12 the other 8, the older one release he had forgot to get the money at home for the cab fair so the f-----g driver stops the cab and put the two kids out of the cab on the street and leaves them there in the -15 whether. I have a app. in kingston tomorrow i guarantee you will have visit from me.

The Pros: All their cabs take interac

The Cons: They are very, very slow at times. Modern Taxi is always the better choice.

Polite, fast, and with well maintained vehicles, Amey's Taxis are a great choice for anyone in the downtown Kingston area looking to get where they want in no time at all for a fair price.
