don't even bother calling this company for a cab, they make you feel they don't need your service and quote you unreasonable prices.

I won't waste my breath (fingers) on describing the whole debacle of my experience. Needless to say, this company has no respect for it's clients. Okay, I left my blackberry in a cab - that was foolish. However, you might expect that when I know the number of the cab I used, I call it in immediately, the driver finds the blackberry and I offer to pay whatever it takes to deliver it back to me that things would be simple. You would be wrong. It has been 3 days. I still don't have it back and I am left with the uncertainty of whether the dispatchers are deliberately unhelpful or just plain incompetent. Either way they are rude and I have no intention of using this company again and I recommend you don't either.

All I can really say about this Vancouver company who owns both Yellow Cabs and Checker Cabs... DO NOT USE this taxi service if you can at all help it!! The service is the worst I have ever come across in any city I have ever had to take a cab. I am so embarrassed that this company is a Vancouver company, especially when the world's eyes will be on us in 2010. Please, to any visitors that come to Vancouver... DO NOT THINK the whole city is as rude as the service you get with this company.

Imagine this. Yes, the weather is bad... Vancouver is not used to having these cold temps, snow and ice. So guess what? More people are taking cabs... so the cab companies are busy. Ok, I'm fine with that. The fact I had to hold for, count them 35 MINUTES before I got the dispatcher... I still was fine with that, because I know this cold weather (no, it's not snowing, just cold tonight) keeps all cabs busy. But I finally get through to the dispatcher and she has the gall to say, "There is no cab in your neighbourhood ... call back in 20 minutes" Hello?? I have been on hold for 35 minutes and you are telling me to call back in 20 minutes to wait what, for another half hour before the call gets answered? And what's this "there's no cab in your neighbourhood" excuse? As a dispatcher, you SEND one here... and it's not like I'm out in the wilderness, I'm in the West End in Vancouver... can we spell D O W N T O W N?? And there's no cab anywhere in this area. Can we now spell L I A R? At least if you aren't going to send a cab, tell the truth. So she tells me that I should go out on a main street and hail a cab!! Excuse me... you just finished saying there's no cab in my neighbourhood and now you tell me to go out in the sub-freezing weather to hail a cab??

I said... "Let me get this straight. You are a dispatcher, who dispatches cabs and you are NOT going to dispatch a cab to the downtown area... yet you advise me to go out and HAIL a non-existent cab? And you don't think I'm not going to write in and let people know how this company reacts to the general public? Lady, you haven't heard the end of me yet!" If this was an isolated case, I'd just put it down to a poor employee, bad weather, let's move on... but this has happened in the summer as well. Different lies, but same poor customer service.

So the more people who snub this company, the better. Use McClure or Vancouver taxi... my recommendation... McClure! I just got off the phone with them and although I had almost as long a wait on hold, the gentleman was so nice and lo and behold, is sending a cab out as soon as he can.
