Universal Tattoo & Piercing, Ottawa Reviews (2)
I recently got a tattoo of four small birds on my wrist. I guess the tattoo wasn't big enough so the artist "gave" his errand boy the job. The tattoo is the worse mess I've ever gotten and I have nine other tattoos! All the lines are shakey, the black is spotty and one of them looks like a hammer.! I went back about 1.5 months after to get it fixed. The guy says "what's wrong with it" I thought he was joking. He actually said the color would look better if I put cream on it. That's kinda like putting perfume on crap. So he treated me like i was an inconvenience, was rude and after taking a picture of my arm says I'll call you when I have the time! It's been over a week and I haven't heard a thing. New moon will fix it I'm sure and I'm sure they'd appreciate the 1500$ back piece I'll be bringing their way.
The staff of Universal are fantastic, kind and knowledgeable. I was shopping around prior to my daughter being pierced for her 16th birthday, and was largely dissatisfied by many of the facilities that I visited. I had been through Planet Ink, Living Colour and Silverline Tattoo when I came across the slightly smaller studio of Universal Tattoo and Piercing.
After speaking with the artists working in their piercing department it became clear to me that there is no other choice in Ottawa if you are looking for unparalleled quality and service. Both of the artists working at Universal (Jenn and Kate I believe) have MANY years experience behind them, and are both clean and professional. The facility was super clean, something lacking in many of the other facilities I visited, and the information that Jenn had on hand was astounding. Care sheets, information on piercings, body mods, insertions, you name it and they can do it. The place had the air of that of a hospital, opposed to a grungy dive.
I wouldn't recommend anywhere else but Universal for body piercing, and when I finally took my daughter in after the research she treated with the same respect that was shown to me. Thanks again, Universal!
