Put a pool in for me over 40yrs ago,did such a good job,I waited a year to have them put in this pool in strittsville,quality and experience was outstanding,service incredible(nothing major),give them 10 stars

I told then what I wanted and asked if it was possible and they said "We'll do what you NEED us to do" and they totally delivered!
I wanted an outdoor heated pool that I could use in the winter and I have it :)
When it's an emergency and I text them they come right away.
The cost of service is very very reasonable.
I definitely recommend them!!!!

We signed a contract with Shank Pools, and put down a $3000 deposit. We ended up having to cancel the pool, and asked for our $3000 back (it is supposed to be completely refundable). After many messages left, and promises, we still are waiting for the money (several months later). We finally had to go through the Better Business Bureau, and they have said that we will recieve our money as early as next week (we will see). Their response to the BBB was a bunch of lies. I am glad we have cancelled with them, if it is this hard to get a deposit back, I wouldn't want to deal with them for a pool. As far as I am concerned, as soon as we cancel the pool, our deposit should be refunded. To try to hold on to our money for 5-6 months is bad business.

seeing you have just joined I would guess that you are correct about people hiding their identities and I imagine that you are a shank family member trying to save face
We did recieve our deposit back. The message that we got from the BBB said that if they didn't receive a response from us within a week, they would consider the matter as dealt with to our satisfaction. Since we were only looking to get a refund on our deposit, we did not respond to the BBB as the matter is now dealt with.

1st, their contract is completely illegal, read the back...they must winterize the pool or your warranty is no good (crap!)
Our concrete is all cracked, he came with a tube of caulking to fix it and said that is all he would do. Our heater didnt work for a month due to bad instructions and location
The best was the "final" bill for "extras" he made up thousands of dollars in extra BS and demaded payment or he would take us to court.
These guys are crooks !

You know, reviews like this are every bit as important as the glowing ones. When I use sites like this, not only am I looking for clues as to which businesses I should be hooking up with, I'm also looking for clues about businesses I need to avoid.

now you have to live with a cracked pool? or did someone else come along and save the day?
We are reviewing everything with a lawyer and will decide what actions to take.

Had a pool installed by Shanks back in 2004 15 years later had the liner replaced and found tons of rust especially under the scimmer the metal is to the point it will need to be replaced
I have a neighbor who had the same pool installed a year before min by Shanks the only difference is that the year My pool was installed was the first year his boys took over the installation
The didi not install the gasket around the scimmer
And last year the deep end of my pool dropped 1.5 inches
We are jow looking at over 40 thousand to have it fixed
My neighbor just had their liner replaced and they had zero rust
