I use to be a customer of Diplomat Pools in Pickering until I had the pleasure of walking into International Pool & Spa on Brock Road. I had had my water tested at Diplomat and was told that I needed to add 12 kg of calcium hardness to my water, 3kg of stabilizer and some chlorine. By chance they were out of calcium so I left and made my way home. I was reading the newspaper and found an ad for International Pool and Spa and decided to go there to pick up the calcium needed as they were having a sale. The store itself is very small but well organized. A girl named Melissa greeted me and asked if I needed any help. I explained my water test readings and what i needed to buy. She said that she would not sell me 12kg of calcium because it is too much to add all at once and I could end up doing more damage than good, and that she didn't believe that test result to be true. I had some extra water left from earlier and got it from the car. She tested the water and when i compared the results to those of Diplomat I was floored. My calcium was sitting at 170ppm and I only needed 4kg to raise it - where diplomat had recommended 12kg. I have not been to Diplomat since and my Pool has never looked better. Melissa is fantastic and knows water chemistry. She is never pushy, takes the time to explain the product and how to apply it and why it is needed. I have saved hundreds of dollars by switching pool companies. What is convenient in travel is not always what is best for you pool. Make the change!

I used to be a loyal customer of another local pool store. Upon walking into the Pickering store i was met with smiles and greetings. The staff there was very informative and took their time to assist me with my problems. The manager at the store told me that they do free water testing. I brought my water in the next day and walked out with NO product! I have never walked out of a pool store with no product. I have started a new program called Natural Chemistry and am very happy with the results. What a positive shopping experience.
