The hours are weird so it is better to call to talk to someone before coming if you are looking to rent. I was on a waitlist and was diligent with calling. The locker is huge and I pay 105$/mo and gave them my credit card number for monthly payment. It’s not a 24 hr facility but I don’t need to be there past 9pm. It’s clean with lots of dollies, individual alarms etc. it’s a win for me to have my apartment decluttered and easy access to my goods. Why are the other places so expensive??

Alex and his wife are really great to interact with. They are fair in their dealings and most importantly friendly. If there are any issues, they can usually accommodate any reasonable requests.
As for storage: it’s an older facility and maintenance is ongoing which is appreciated. For the price of the storage units, it is a good price compared with other storage facilities. It’s a no-frills type of self storage. This self storage is not everyone. If you require a higher end facility with all the bells and whistles, look elsewhere. For my personal use, it was okay.

Less expensive than others. They have enough cart.

I went there today at June 23, 1:45 pm to visit the facility and rent a storage place. Door was locked and there was a sign showing they are coming back around 2:15 pm. No problem, so I waited.

Finally someone showed up and unlocked the door, and in less than 30 seconds, he put another sign that he will be back in 5-10 minutes. Again no problem!

Finally, he unlocked the door, and before I entered the office, he came out and locked the door again.

I smiled and asked “excuse me, is your office open for customer service?”
And then, I got the coldest and the most unfriendliest “NO” of my life. That was enough for me to realize the quality of customer service and behaviour from the guy in-charge.

Providing a service cheaper than other places does not justify a rude attitude.

Very straightforward and fair. I like how Alex does business, no complicated "deals" like these other places. You know where you stand, no surprises.

For the price and access availability, this place is not too bad. A bit older. Storage is storage and it's probably the most economical due to age and convenience. Would recommend for a basic storage needs with no frills.

Easy to access and great value for price. Alex is extremely professional and will get back to you quickly if you need assistance. Highly reccommend.

It is almost the best price in the whole great vancouver area as a self storage. Although it is not open 24/7, from 7am to 9pm is enough for most people's requirements.If you live in richmond and need extra rooms as storage, this place should be your first choice

Access Self Storage, despite their rodent problem USED to be the cheapest commercial storage in Metro Vancouver. Not anymore. Many are leaving or only temporary storing their goods because other facilities in town are full or near full. I wonder how much longer Access Self Storage will be in business before the greedy owner sells the property?

Absolutely fantastic customer service. I would 100% recommend and I'll be sure to use Access Self Storage again in the future if needed.
I was initially worried about using Access Self Storage. I researched all the big brand storage facilities in the area and Access Self Storage were much much cheaper. At that price I was worried that it wasn't going to be secure, or perhaps damp and my stuff would get mouldy. None of that is true. I met the manager and we talked about the facility. He completely put my mind at rest. The facility secure and dry.
On a side note, I locked myself out of the unit and they bent over backwards to help me get access and make my ferry connection. I 100% trust the team and would use the facility again.

Have been using this storage facility for about 3 years now as it was the cheapest around. Not so much anymore.
You get what you pay for.
It's an old facility, but does the trick.
Washrooms are disgusting, not cleaned regularly, garbage cans in washrooms are extremely dirty, never cleaned. I find mouse droppings in my locker. They use standard mouse traps for mouse control which most are not set. Purchased & set traps inside my locker to get rid of the mice.
You have people walking in on your access code, they get angry when you confront them.
One staff member got angry at me for setting off the alarm in my locker.
Open hours are good, but not 24 hours.

They were great! I stored my stuff with them for 6 months. It was clean, dry, and there was no damage. Charges were exactly what was expected. I got my deposit back at the end. No problem.

Why only four stars? The room wasn't as big as advertised: not as wide, not as long, not as tall. It made a significant difference in how much stuff I could store (I'd planned out how to pack a maximum amount of stuff in there, knowing my exact furniture dimensions, based on the advertised room dimensions, and leaving plenty of wiggle room, but I had to bring a bunch of furniture back home because it wouldn't fit according to the plan.

So take a tape measure with you to get the actual dimensions, if you plan to jam-pack your storage room. The rest of the process was smooth, though.

I'd go back to Access if I need storage again.
