I've heard so many people say they loved the Maid of the Mist, so when I was recently in Niagara Falls and saw the boats there, I really wanted to go for a cruise!
The boats are hard to get to (I had to rock climb down a 100' cliff, then climb 3 fences before I got to the ship). When I got my seat on board the vessel, we didn't go anywhere. I sat there for 3 or 4 hours before giving up.
I ended up just walking across the ice to the base of the falls. Wasn't until I got back to my hotel when they told me the Maid of the Mist doesn't run in the winter. Maybe they should post signs on the cliff so I might of stopped my decent.
